Yup that is correct. The elite four are twice as hard in platinum as they were in diamond and pearl. Cynthia's strongest pokemon is her Garchomp at level 78. So you can kind of get the idea of how strong the Elite Four are. I must say though Aaron has gotten a lot harder. Thank God though I finished the game. All I'm waiting to do now is transfer my pokemon from diamond to platinum. That will be my legendary super pokemon team!

Well Bug type is okay if paired with another type like Steel, which is why I love Scizor!

I guess I don't have a problem with the type as much as I had a problem with Aaron's selection. Heracross was the only one I really agreed with.

yeah the level of the elite four's pokemon have decreased slightly, but after you obtain the national pokedex and get rid of team galactic at stark mountain, the levels of the elite four increase quite a good bit :D

And it's not just Aaron, either. Bertha trades her Sudowoodo for a Rhyperior, Flint gains a Houndoom, Flareon and Magmortar to replace Steelix, Loppuny, and Drifblim, Lucian trades in Girafarig and Medicham for Espeon and Gallade and Cynthia herself switches out her Gastrodon for Togekiss.

So, yeah. The Elite Four become quite a bit tougher in Platinum. :/

A good way to increase Sheer Cold's success rate is to increase your accuracy and decrease your foe's evasion. Not really my kind of strategy and it has it's flaws, but it's effective if you can pull it off.
