Personally, I think of the horrible voice acting as a plus. It's sooooo funny sounding it makes the whole experience absurdly campy and humorous. The voice actors basically sound like a cross between a redneck and britsh accent.... It's rather hilarious. The whole game as is so totally campy, which is actually kind of awesome. XD

i saw this at the store for 20 bucks today...is it still worth trying now 2 years after its release? becuase i have been eyein it for a long time and it looks really cool but how much customization can i really do? and is it as fun as cod4 and stuff like that?

Yes, it is worth it, if you can look past some of the shoddy English localization (only very few voice actors were used for the entire game).

CoD4 doesn't have armour that flakes off every few strikes. It also doesn't let you fire all 5 barrels of a Warshotgun (a massive shotgun that fires cluster-explosives rather than buckshot) in an enemy's face.

The "cuban arena" level in the game is also well worth the price. Send me a private message for more details.

I really dont get the hate on this game.. i personally see it as proof of the power media has over what people think of a game.. if IGN says its a bad game the zombies that call themselves gamers will say its a bad game.... personally i think this is an awesome game, with a wonderful and interesting setting and great gameplay.. and seriously people stop dissing the graphics they look great!!

overall a hugely under appreciated title, i'd have loved to see this into a full series

It had a large amount of potential but it seems Digital Jesters cheated them out of a lot of it, such as only giving them access to 3, yes, only 3 English voice actors to voice the English version.

Too many people in the gaming audience don't do their own research or play the demos of game their interested in to apply their own judgement. Listening only to game reviewers is not the only way (let alone the best way) to get the real picture.

well yes i admit the voice acting is pretty bad.. but that doesnt make the gameplay bad... anyone ever play spellforce? worst voice acting ever... but its a unique and fun gaming experience.. same goes for this, but not exactly unique.. jsut good, and the voice acting is notably better then spellforce

Oddly enough, Kylotonn's last game, Iron Storm, was much better localized into English, probably because they were published by Dreamcatcher Interactive at that time.

They learned their lesson though. They ditched Digital Jesters after this one.

I see potential in this game to be a series. You don't. That's your right.

In truth, because Digital Jesters went bankrupt, Bet on Soldier is no longer supported in the English market. It's still doing fairly well in the European market, though.
