@ShamWasBetter1973 Talk about jerking off thats all you do you fucking jackoff a worthless piece of shit, searching the net to fuck with people so go fuck your self asshole and while your at it get a big case of AIDS and dies quickly you maggot eating piece of worthless playstation xbox googleing motherfucker!
Secretariat's was never on any anabolic substance or illegal supplement. What he did have was a 22lb heart when the average heart is 16-18lbs. A pure machine! If you would like to explain yourself with facts please do so but please do not slander a great competitor.
@markmarshall39 It was Man O' War who won a race by 100 lengths. Google the story. Only one other horse and something went wrong, can't remember what it was.
Sham was the best of all of the other horses that year. The horse was annihilated by Secretariat 3 times. Even though he ran close to Secretariat in the Derby and Preakness, the outcomes were never in doubt. Pincay beat Sham like a rented mule while Secretariat was never touched. Do we care who lost the Super Bowl or the World Series or The Masters? Not really.
That's a damn shame to know he's in a places where horse racing fans can't go seem him maybe the owner will move his grave so fans can go and pay respect to the horse that if not for red would be called the greatest. R.I.P sham. The second greatest race horse ever
I finally find somebody that has given this horse (SHAM) the respect that he really deserved and never given. It was a unlucky year to run against probably the best race horse that ever step into a race track. but there is no shame on finishing second to Secretariat and also run the second fastest Kentucky Derby and Preakness My favorite horse of all times that was ridden by my brother (Laffit) . My hat off to Secretariat but my heart goes to SHAM.
@timertheechidna there is another video here by kierkegaard that is a long tribute to Sham. On a lot of Secretariat videos here on YTube, many of us express our love and heartfelt admiration for Sham. I think it is sad that Sham is buried off to the side next to a parking lot at Walmac Farm in Kentucky, resulting in people not seeing his gravesite when they visit there.
@timertheechidna The mistake made with Sham was trying to beat Secretariat in the Belmont Stakes. Had they passed on the Belmont and waited for the fall races, they might very well have won the Travers (which Secretariat missed) and then perhaps got the best of Secretariat in the Woodward (a race Lucien Lauren only ran Secretariat in after it rained) and had a big rivalry with Forego at four and five (continued).....
@timertheechidna....... (continued). The only reason Lauren ran Secretariat in the '73 Woodward was because Riva Ridge, who clearly hated wet tracks had to be withdrawn from the Woodward after it rained, as Secretariat was being pointed for the Man o'War (on turf) nine days later. Sham probably could have been a great horse at four and five, battling Forego for Horse of the Year in 1974 and '75 if they had played their cards right.

Sham was a really great horse but Secretariat was a master of greatness, no other horse will ever match his victories, not in a million years!

@bailinnumberguy yes, and noone ever mentions that Sham also broke Northern Danceer's 2:00 min record, 2-3 lengths behind Secretariat at 1:59 4/5.
