Actually, they give beginners a challenge, ultimately making the beginners come out as better players in the end. I was pretty experienced at Halo when I introduced my friends, a hundred times better than them, but they played with me and against me, and in what seems like no time at all, they are just about as good as me, at times they can do much better than I do even. It's not so bad, it's just a game and it puts pressure on the beginners to strive to be better.
