  • I said EVEN IF ...

I made no allegations. I do think Lou's track record as a songwriter is very impressive. When I hear Minimalist music like this, I think of John.

  • It is not just the powerful guitar playing, or the virtuoso singing and piano playing. It is the relentless tension, the ravishing and poetic lyrics. This is a huge album.

  • Even if Lou wrote every single thing on the album, John would deserve a lot of credit for his performance. I love his singing, and his voice is infinitely better for portraying Andy Warhol than Lou's.

  • @ZenPapageno what makes you think Reed wrote everything?!

I´d suppose all the tracks Cale sings, he wrote himself and vice versa.

It´s as simple as that unless you have any source to prove your allegations.

  • 4:22 John Cale is grooving to Lou's guitar as much as we are.

  • It's fair to say this is quite fucking brilliant.

  • Méltó dal Andy emlékére Lou gitárszólója és John Cale hangja rohadt jó..ebben a dalban:)egyik kedvenc dalommá lett ez a melódia! külön klassz hogy megemlékeznek Edie-ről..s több hires értékes emberről:)

  • (After enjoying this as much as possible) (and among the many marvels of this collaboration) please take also note that Lou Reed deploys the ELECTRIC GUITAR as it's supposed to be played - a sonic scalpel.

  • magnificent!

  • God bless the people stricked by this album.

  • love lou reed's guitar on this one, electric!!!

  • these two men could make classic albums every time they wanted. amazing...

  • Absolutely brilliant. A terrific album and this is my favourite song on it.

  • @spacebat28 Just shut the hell up, Lou Reed really makes that album ROCK you should admit that...even if you're not a (big) fan of Lou...

Lou Reed Rocks!(John does too but in another sort of musical way;)

  • Pure energy, pure art...

  • What Arnolds biceps is to the flesh, this song is to the soul.

    Strong.

  • @JuvoII you're so gay.

  • @festivalsfunerals hahaha dude I was drunk. And it's Arnold that is gay :).

  • doesn't get any better...

  • This is why everyone should put Reed/Cale next to Lennon/McCartney and Jagger/Richards, Page/Plant, whatever.

  • the guitar just burns on this song

  • typical VU sound...rooted, powerful...as cool as ever..

  • my favorite for many years! sooo ravishing - thanx lou and john.

  • great guitar work by Lou Reed!

  • Yes :D

  • Muito bom !!!

  • ça fait du bien! merci

  • This is everything

  • i love when he mentions EDie

  • I do think that this tune is the best one, with Open house, of this album...

  • along with Style It Takes and Small Town of course. oh, and Trouble with Classicists, Hello It's me and Images. Also, I really like Work, Starlight, A Dream and the song about Valerie Solanas

  • Great video. I met Mr. Warhol once. He didn't seem too comfortable around me, I thought it was because I was 10 years old. I told him, 'You can curse if you want to.' (To me, that was the height of social intercourse.) He laughed!

  • Never know you met him! Wow!

  • My father knew him. In fact, he knew a lot of remarkable people. I never knew Mr. Warhol, though. I met him briefly, but he left an impression!

  • This song just gets better every time you hear it.Great song...love John Cale!

  • Yes, amazing.

  • Agree!

  • Merci UhOh3991 !!!!!!!!

  • That guy John Cale can play two pianos and sing like a bird...what a genius

  • @michaelivingstone yep. John Cale, the most underrated man in music. what an incredibly influential genius this cat is with about 30 solo albums and more produced. just saw him do Paris 1919 in Melbourne Aust and then after 1919 he blew the roof off with his band with songs like Pablo Picasso, Gun, Charole, many more. my all time favorite artist. I like Lou too, but he's got nothing on John.

  • Simply beautiful!

  • J.C. and L.R. are so brilliant together - praise

the underground and god rest Drella

  • two crazy oul bastids !!!!!!! riding about in a train gettin changed up and down and speedin all ova !!!

  • this is beyond anything i know. Unbelievable.

  • Very strange song and I love that ! In effect, John Cale and Lou Reed are absolutly sublime.

  • This song, a definitive masterpiece. No doubt about it.

  • My favourite track from the album.Reed is sublime on the guitar,Cale is just........sublime.

  • This is from Songs for Drella, which Reed and Cale made together as a tribute to Andy Warhol after he died Drella being their nickname for him [a play on Cinderella]. Its a great album and I highly recommend it the vid itself is a documentary/live performance they did of the album, maybe the only one as far as I remember

  • They have to make another album together! I think this next time, the public would be more into it because of the recent interest in their music and the VU...not to mention the growing indie rock movement.

thanks for posting. I love this song and album.

    And John Cale...xoxox hehehehe

  • Which TV show is this from? I'm a big fan of both of these people.

  • A good one.

  • This is too much emotion 4 me...Amazing...i heard it once i felt in love with this tune!

  • You don't have to say, "Yeah, yeah, I know." Just listen to the end of the song, the way it slows down the way a train coming to a stop does.

  • Merci pour la traduction...

  • Lou is the only survivor of the early factory years...Amazing!A living legend...Does he have a biography?I want to know more...

  • Thank u4 this amazing song!

  • Almost a pity this beautiful song is specifically about Warhol, as without much alteration it could be a powerful universal sentiment. Has your life forever changed in a specific moment?

  • The best song on Songs For Drella!

  • GREAT!!!!

  • yeaaaahhh!!!

    i love it...

  • Amazing!

I Love that Song so much

    Grat Liryc
