  • @natrlchallenge thank you so so much, do what your heart says :-)

  • I relaxed my hair this past Saturday (5/29) my whole head is texlaxed!!! It wasn't my intention to do so but it's cute. :-)

  • @amalthea25 the more it will grow, the more you'll like the thickness :-)

  • hallelujah...u r fearfully and wonderfully made...He hears our requests and grants them, even when it comes to hair...lol....be blessed sis (u inspire me)

  • whats the differents froma lye and no lye relaxer

  • So happy for you ma'am.....keep it up. Your hair looks great : )

  • @TheErinD22 thank you :-)

  • yes sooo true no lye products are no bueno and yes text lax is better than bone straight.

  • I totally agree, with all you have said. Also when self relaxing make 6 parts on the head relax 3 and 4 ( middle)then 1 and 2 ( front) then 5 and 6 ( back). the nape and edges should always be done last Also use a nice aloe vera base like Namaste. it protects your scalp.

  • tks a lot ! i am using the Hollywood beauty as a base, it is very greasy so it protects a lot ! :-)

  • hi, tks

i think don't getting it straight is becz it is under processed and also not smoothed down well

My hair ended up being texlaxed but it was quite ok

  • Honey .. good video .. and on how to wrap your hair .. use a curler on the top of your headand wrap your hair around the curler and then use a stocking to swirl it.

  • tks a lot ! i will try to find a stocking cap here in NYC !

tks so much, i like those comments where ppl also share with me ;-)

i may dedicate a video to you with this technique, lol, but don't make fun of me if it is weird, hahahaha

  • Did you trim your ends so you wouldnt have see threw ends anymore? help me, i wanna do what you did lol.

  • hi, i haven't trimmed in 1 year, i only dust my ends, i have a video on that, check it out ;-)

Ps : what worked the most was protective styles ;-)

  • i've been watching your vids today, love your hair journey. I have to say I like this relaxer compared to the last relaxers. I feel this one gives you a more natural look. it looks good on you. good luck in the rest of your journey. And God Bless.

  • Congrats.... I am so happy for you. Your hair is so pretty. Please take a look at my vid of my progress in a month. I too have gotten thicker hair. Keep up the good work.

  • Congrats girl! Next stop...BSL!!! God is good..people laugh when I say that I pray for my hair to grow..but you can go to God for ANYTHING..

  • AMEN ! ! you are so so right !

well i guess to me next stop will be BSB (Below Shoulder Blade) length, cause my back is extremely long, hahahaha, i won't reach BSL before the end of 2010, if not beginning of 2011 ;-)

  • Hi Nunaa, congrats on your hair progress. I was wondering, I noticed in the other video that you said you went a little longer than the timer. How long was your total application and smoothing process?

  • hi there, i think it was 20 mn for the whole thing, instead of 15 :-(

but whatever, still it was not bone straight, lol

  • so you speak french...love you hair ^-^

  • lol, yes i do, i was born here in France ;-)

    tks

  • Hey! Congrats on the hair growth! Great videos by the way!

  • thanks a lot !

  • what did you use?

  • your hair looks wonderful stronger/healthy. texlax hair is better than bone straight. b cuz its keeps u from over processing your hair, which causes breakage and see through ends. When you texlax and you perm your hair again later when u get new growth it will be ok if a little bit of perm mistakenly touches the previously texlax hair. texlax hair will help you retain fullness and give u minimum breakage. But anyways u did a good job continue to research and do you. I am now all natural

  • Hey nunaa! Awesome job growing out your hair. I can't believe how great it looks! You may need to do another wash with the neutralizing shampoo b/c I heard no lye can coat and dry out the hair. Also, try an intense deep conditioning and moisturizing to stop the dryness and breakage. Otherwise God has blessed you with a beautiful head of hair. Take care.

  • thank you so so much ! i will do that this saturday night, promised ! lol

  • cooongrats omg from SL how long has it taken u to get to apl coz im trin 2 be there by december lol

  • i was at full SL in february, did a light trim and i am at APL in August

so it took 6 months ;-)

    my tip number 1 : lots of protective styles! ! ! !

  • Congrats girlie! You are an inspiration and your vids are motivating me to never give up on my hair journey, even when bad things happen.

  • thank you so so much ! i am so glad i can be of any help

  • Hi lady,

Ur hair is amazing and it has grown so much... Keep up the good job. By the way, I also live in France and I was wondering where you buy ur products from like the NTM Leave- in, the CHI silk infusion... Please gimme and adress. Thanks

  • hi girl

    tks for the support

i get my products from my bf that lives in Canada ;-)

  • very good results for ur first time congrats

  • ive been watching ur videos since april & i love the way ur hair is coming along and it just makes me that much more excited 4 my own hair journey so thank u 4 ur videos and inspiration u r a beautiful person

  • i found it so funny that you forgot how to wrap ur hair but when u stay away from wrapping for a while you honestly forget. it happened to me. but i see i do recommend doing ur relaxer in 2 sections its really easier. i have a relaxer video up if u want to check it out

  • i saw it, i will def use it as a model if ever i go back to self relax ;-)

    tks

  • lol, tks

  • Congrats mama!

  • go nunaaa go nunaaa go nunaaa lol congrats girrrrl on reachin ur goal!!:) im gonna self relax for the first time on my bday (8/28)....u gave me confidence!!

  • Wow I'm smiling from ear to ear for you! Yay you did it!!!!! Thanks for sharing with us! Since your hair strands are thin you may want to texlax from now on. I texlax and I love it makes streaching for 14 weeks very easy.

  • really? how do you do that? i mean handling the 2 different textures? how do you style? i cannot wait for your answer, lol

  • I normally do lots of briad-outs I don't ware my hair stright in the summer but in the winter I flat iorn once a week or rollerset once a week. To deal w/ the 2 textures keep it moist, co-wash alot DC with heat get good detangling conditioners VO5 milks are good for that and they are cheap so you can use as much as u need. The hardest part is dealing with tangles. As you know!! Though it's not for everyone...I like it, I was 100% natural up until a year ago so textlax is the best of both for me!

  • So long and thick yay :D

  • tks girl ;-)

  • LENGTH LENGTH LENGTH LENGTH. GREAT!

  • You did a great job. I knew you could do it :-}

  • great results... try a paddle brush when wrapping your hair around. it helps a lot.

  • i tried in the past but maybe wrapping is not for me? lol, tks a lot

  • Beautiful! Congrads Girl!!!

  • you have beautiful hair, congrats on the work you have done on it so far

  • thank you ;-)

  • Congrats Nunaaa !!! I'm so happy for you !! Your hair is gorgeous !

  • I've got to say when you said you were going to self relax I was willing you NOT to do it yourself;but you 'nailed' it as they would say!! It looks brilliant.I have to say, watching your vids has persuaded me to relax my hair again because now through you, I have learnt to maintain relaxed hair. Well done & God Bless. BTW what shade & brand of lippy are you wearing in the pcs at end of video??

  • After you neutralize your hair with neutralizing shampoo you should always use a regular conditioning shampoo afterwards!

  • ooh i didn't knew that, tks a lot, i will do that next time if ever i self relax again

  • Nunaa your hair is beautiful! It is a really good length.

That JBCO and your indian oils and powders have done a great job!

  • absolutely ! lol, thanks a lot sweetie

  • nunaa! I just love your videos and your progress is amazing! I am almost APL and I cant wait to get there. I am like 1 1/2inches away and the anxiety is killing me!! Do you have a fotki album ??

  • girl you'll make it, just be patient (and don't manipulate too much, lol, i used to do that)

    i don't have a Fotki (yet) lol

  • Beautiful!!! do you have a video with your full regimen...

  • hi there, yes i have it, it is called "my hair regimen - thickening program"

    tks

  • I feel your excitement! Congrats NUNAA!! I can see that its thicker and longer. What you have been doing has paid off!! Keep it up my KISS Sista!!

    ~jMarie~

  • muaaah

    tks a lot

  • Hey, Nunaa! Thank you for sharing your hair journey and congratulations !

    May God Bless you!

    xxx

  • you're welcome

    be blessed in return

  • congratulations sweetie. Hard work paid of indeed. In all honesty which step would you say helped your hair grow most of all? moisturizing? DC? Indian treatment? What? Castor oil?

because right now all I do is prepoo, dc, light protein, cowash, moisturize and seal and that's it.

  • tks a lot

honestly if it is for growth i would say 1° indian products 2° castor oil

For thickness i would say 1° DC more often 2°castor oil

what you do so far is good, it will pay

  • wow you did a great job girl...looking fab

    hugs xx

  • thanks sweetie ;-)

    xoxo

  • Congratulations Nunaa!!!!!

  • Congrats girl, I am very glad for you. I am following your progress, although I can not comment every time

  • malulu ! thank you so much for taking that time

    i appreciate you

    xoxoxo

  • how could you tell if you were just shedding or if your hair was breaking?

  • shedding : long strands with bulb at the end

breakage : broken pieces of hair

i was hearing my hair breaking, you know those little "krrick kricck" noises, looool

  • hi nunaa! i have been watching for a while. Thank you for sharing your hair journey with us and for documenting so well. You should keep doing your own relaxers and trims. your technique will improve with time. If u keep going to salons u will eventually lose your progress. Good Luck and God Bless!

  • thanks so much for this very very nice comment ! i appreciate your support, i will try to keep on self relaxing ;-)

may you be blessed in return

  • wow... your hair is so thick and pretty congrats!!!!!!

  • tks a lot ;-)

  • GREAT RESULTS! your hair has improved! if you do relax yourself agin dont do it in two parts like you said! relax it all in the same day because relaxed hair can't get wet for 24-48 hours.

  • oooh, thanks so much, i didn't knew that

  • You're hair is lookin' Fabulous!!! I wish I was there to wrap your hair for you! It's best to part in the back and keep parting to work up and around.

  • oooh tks sweetheart, it was a mess, lol
