@Racecarwrecks - I agree about some racing now being boring, and absolutely that accidents are part of the thrill as long as the drivers are fine. just one Question, don't you consider Charlie Cox fracturing his skull in a massive shunt in BTCC in his mondeo (90's) as a serious injury then?
@rsoctavia51 He didn't fracture his skull did he? I just thought he had serious concussion (like Kelvin Burt did one year later at Oulton). All I know is that Cox started the S2000 era. He returned in the first ever hatchback since the 80s (Group 2, dead regulations). Some other motorsport has to be created to Group 2 spec!
Ths is a absolute testement to the strength of these cars... they are brilliant and the fact he driver got out and walked away is more power to the fact that these cars are the wat to go if you want the best motor racing
@Racecarwrecks - thanks for that, i'll pass that onto Neil, Sean and Matt who own and drive the car, these are people i know and was chatting to when my team was helping them to load the car up at the end of the weekend.
sorry that safe cars bore you but these guys are there to entertain you - not suffer for you...
@norman190868 Safe cars don't bore me. The lack of the element of danger old school racing had made the racing more thrilling but yeah, safe cars aren't boring to watch racing - take BTCC, where the last serious injury ever was in 1973.
@Racecarwrecks Yes, F1 has no element of danger, Touring cars are safer (in the UK anyway) but motorsport is dangerous and i for one dont want to see friends and collegues (Like Smithy in the video) being hurt in any way...as long as the drivers canwalk away as he did then im happy.
@Racecarwrecks It's good to know that the driver walked away.. very hard head-on crash.! Say.. I am a fellow amateur racing driver from Brazil and I am really interested in taking part in this race in 2012. I would like to know a little bit more abou it.. Would you visit my channel and leave me a msg? I am trying very hard to "talk" to real people and not only through the website. Thanks.
that's HANS devices for you - no way I would have walked away if I hadn't had one on
