im only just finishing up season two, but it doesn't seem like they are focusing that much on Reid's addiction. i mean, after revelations it was the only reason i kept watching, and even then i almost forgot about it. the most they showed was him still having the drugs, but that was it. its like he went back to normal. maybe i just have to keep watching, but i would have def. wanted to see that story progress deeper, prob cause reid is my favorite character. i could be wrong though.

@dance2damusic1 The last episode shown in this video ('Ashes and Dust') was basically the end of the addiction story. They can only show so much of the team's personal life/problems and still balance the cases, but the writers admitted they wanted to drop the story b/c it sounded better on paper than in practice. After this, it got a few mentions (the S2 finale, brief mention in 'A Higher Power' and a big focus in 'Elephant's Memory' in S3, and recently in S6 again), but they don't go too deep.

@MrMonkeyJackson It's explained a bit better in the episode, but essentially the guy who kidnapped Reid had multiple personalities - the "nice" personality gave Reid the drugs. The "evil" personality wasn't aware of that, and got angry at Reid for being a "weak" drug user.

@rogueandkurt Actually Tobias' (the guy who kidnapped reid) father like possesed him of something... his father was the one who 'killed' reid and Tobias was the one who gave him CPR and saved him... after reid kills him, the person who made this didnt show it but, Tobis says "You did it. You killed him." Him being his father's spirit... Get it?? I'm like the expert on Criminal Minds... For some odd reason my friends and family call me 'Reid'...

@hushpuppyhyz123 In the episode, they do say that Tobias had multiple personalities (also known as Dissociative Identity Disorder). He wasn't possessed by his father - his brain created a personality like his father's to help him deal with the stress of having killed his dad (an act that went against the moral code his father'd instilled in him). Tobias does say that Reid "killed him" after he was shot, but had the wound not been fatal, it's likely that the personality would've returned later.

They would have noticed the personality changes, the highs versus the lows, plus there are usually physical signs when someone is using drugs, pupil size etc, that they're used to looking for with UnSubs. They know Reid, it wouldn't be hard to work out.
