Trojan fan here, good luck in LA. Hopefully USC can get a shot at the dominant SEC, we are 4-0 this decade against the best. So I'd say a National Championship with USC vs Florida or Georgia would be much better television than OSU. I know its hard to imagine outside of Ohio, but thats what the VAST majority of college ball fans want.

Thank you for the sarcasm, however what the fans want is the clear number one and number two for the BCS championship, and that doesn't include Ohio State with its weak bowl play against the SEC and mediocre schedule and conference. Sorry but OSU losing national respect from fandom and ESPN has to hurt a little. In '05 the nation knew Texas and USC deserved to be there, good luck ever getting that type of acknowledgement for OSU again. Sorry but your team and conf. is dying.

when your team, or any other team, stops losing to 41 point underdogs at home, then perhaps you can rightfully complain about not making it to the championship. wv lost to lowly pitt. usc lost to lowly stanford. (ohio state has lost 5 games in three years. 3 of those were to that years national champion, one to 11-1 penn state and one to rose bowl bound illinois... so what if you killed illinois the same year... osu didn't lose to a 41 pt dog at home)

Sure we blow it every once and awhile, contrary to what your coach thinks, we aren't perfect. We lose to teams we shouldn't due to our pride. Now when it comes to playing up to competition like say the SEC, who we are 5-0 against this decade and you are 0-9 bowl or regular games, your not really respected by the powerhouses. Did you just criticize the Big 10 for being a mediocre conference? If the Big 10 is mediocre, what does that make the Pac 10? The Big 10 is already superior to the Pac 10. If you took USC out of the Pac 10, the Big Ten would be FAR SUPERIOR to the Pac 10. The Pac 10 is weak. USC was the ONLY team in the Pac 10 in the top 25 for a VERY LONG period of time. I have NEVER EVER EVER seen less than 3 Big 10 teams in the top 25. EVER. Arizona, Arizona State, Stanford, UCLA, Washington teams-all weak!!!

Oregon, one of the best Pac 10 teams, barely beat Purdue who is probably the worst Big 10 team (they had to come from 21 points behind to do it I think). Oregon State got killed by 5 touchdowns by a Big 10 team. Cal is pretty weak. Most college football experts say USC should contend for a national championship every year but they are hurt by playing in such a weak conference. Lets face it--as much heat as the Big 10 has taken, it is still the 3rd best conference (behind the SEC and Big 12).

You have a QB the size of a linebacker who would get the yard even if he just fell forward, yet you call a slow developing, deep hand-off to a smallish back-up RB who has never shown the ability to run through anybody, when your line hasn't been moving anyone all day, knowing full well that given the personnel and formation you're showing in that situation, that's exactly your tendency and everyone in the stadium or watching on TV is expecting it. Dude, there are upsets every year in college football, even though this wasn't an upset it was too close for comfort, games like this are close because it's how two different teams sync up with each other and their different play styles, and player & coaching decisions, the team my have the ability to dominate or keep it closer (speaking like USC), but it's the decisions they make right or wrong, in this game, there were a lot of bad decisions by Ohio State.
