then why not make a ramp at the back of the ship??? , plane taxi's on that thing to hold it and a cable cable hoists the entire thing out of the water over the ramp (back of ship) on the afterdeck... i think that is simple enouf to work maybe easier for the pilot =D

an aircraft like this still has better peformance than a helo, but it is much harder to recover.
