I know this was in 08, but it's never too late for constructive criticism. Where the woman say "clap your hands all ye people shout with the voice of triumph" needs to get more boom! Make people jump out of their seats. :) Everyone should clap during lets praise the lord solo, it would look better. The ending needs to get more boom as well.
I really think that the pronunciation rules regarding the vowels are thrown out the window when singing gospel music. The sound has to be so dirty and gritty for it to really sound authentic. Pretty good, but I'm the person who likes my gospel music to be very "black." ;)
@engrish2006 Hmm.... my gospel music teacher always puts an emphasis on us pronouncing words completely and correctly. Sure it sounds good if the choir gets all the right notes but if no one understands what you're saying then whats the point lol
If this were UIL I would rate this a Division 1... It is boring... NO EXPRESSION AND THEY ARE CHOPPING THE WORD "THING".. AND THE SOLOS ARE HORRIBLE...
funny.. my school's traveling choir sings this in our church services and we have the same clapping pattern and everything! i really like how you did the last line with the emphasis on the right words.. really well done!
Your choir is PERFECT! The expressions, diction and dynamics bring this beautiful arrangement alive. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this with us - Keep Singing!!!
i sang this song back in 2007 when Dr. Jeffery Ames conducted the mass choir for the All City Music Festival in omaha nebraska. you guys did a great job. =)
Have fun with that!! You're really lucky to be able to sign it in HS. Here in Mass., students aren't allowed to do music that is so recognizably religious (even though it's a great deal of fun to do and a lot better than most of the repertoire that's out there).
yall did good but should have more ethustiac when u sing my school choir was the same way but at least people liked it though lol u should check out our let everything that breath
There were many wonderful things about this performance. However, I would suggest that you watch the tempo :D also, it's usually a good thing to not have the soloist wipe his mouth all up in the camera :D lol

hey guyz, let them be themselves. It's their style, it's their way and they don't have to fit in how WE suppose Gospel music is to be.

This looks like choir practice...not a performance. Unfortunate also to put the one guy who doesn't clap closest to the camera.

You did a very good job with this piece. The one thing I would suggest is more dynamic contrast. It makes things so much more interesting.
