i have a phottix intervalometer as well for my canon600D/t3i however i cannot get the camera to take up to 99 frames even when i set it to 99 frames. it stops at 50 frames sometimes even 20 frames. can anyone help? thanks!
@beatsiz I'm so sorry for the confusion. I was just using the antenna on another wireless remote as a pointer. So, no, the Nikos is a wired cable remote, and DOES NOT work with a wireless remote.
@dlcmh Thanks for your explanation. However, I was wondering if there's an equivalent device with this Phottix Nikos shutter release that is wireless, not cabled. Same feature, same function, just wireless. Do you have any suggestions?
This timers does a half press at 5 seconds remaining to autofocus and at time 0 releases the shutter. So if your interval is 5 or shorter you don't get a preview. If you set to 6 sec you will get a 1 sec preview, set to 7 sec and you get a 2 sec preview... and so on.
I've seen Aputure timers do the "half press" at about 2 sec remaining.
I prefer 2 sec, but Aputure timer was junk. Super cheap build, didn't have a power button, and broke after 6 month light use.
You can do all camera adjusting while it's plugged in.
Oh and no you cannot change apeture size.
Yes you can change exposure time thru the timer but w/ 1 sec intervals and you would have to put your camera in manual / bulb shutter mode.
Essentially this thing controls the shutter button on the camera and that's it. It does the half press (for autofocus) and full press (to take the actual shot). It's got an embedded processor to do all the glorified timing / self timer / long exposure stuff.
Does this N10 have a limit on the frames you take on interval time? Reason is, i want to do a time lapse video that could be up to 1000 or 2000 frames. For egzample, if i had to take 1 frame per every 6 seconds, i will have to take 1200 frames for a total recording time of 2 hrs. Will this phottix Nikos (N10) let me do that on my Nikon d90?
That is not so. I have this remote shutter and when you leave it at the default it will keep shooting forever. The counter can be set from 0 to 99. If set to 0 it will shoot forever.
Can I use Nikos to make HDRs with different shutter speed???

Can you use the wireless remote with the Nikos?
You're holding the wireless remote and even said you don't need it at the end, so I'm confused now.

Hope this clears things up.

Thank you for the quick reply.
Which Phottix remote should I get? I do timelapse photography, long exposure and I also want wireless so maybe I would need the Nikos and the Plato.

I heard that some shutter release cables disable the viewfinder when connected to a D90..
is this the case with this one???
cheers..

ok I see,
but what i meant is, in case i am only taking one shot, will the viewfinder be available while the cable is connected..
or do i have to set the composition and all the ther stuff while the cable is unconnected, and then connect afterwards,,
but from what u said i understand its not disabled before u start shooting,,
and another thing, do i get to change the aperture size, exposure time through the timer itself?
thanks for ur reply

Yes if it is in normal mode and you press the "big button" it will take one picture and you get your preview right away.
The mode I was talking about was the intervalometer mode where it continues to take pictures on a timed basis.

The camera you see in the video is a D90. When purchasing the product, be sure to get the correct type for your camera.
