I have a D&T recording where he prefaces the songs as "about someone I was in love with for a long time & it didn't quite work out like I planned..." after the song was over, he was noticeably shook up, and apologized for "getting caught up in the moment." he then said that since then they have made up and are good friends.

Yes, that's true. To date Halloween is on of DMB's angriest songs.

Yeah During a Dave and Tim Show in 99' he Introduces "Halloween" by saying it's about the same girl he wrote "I'll Back You Up"for. And in other recorded show from the 90's he states that "I'll back You up" was written for a girl he proposed to three times and was turned down all three times.

hey im a huge dmb fan, but i thought the original track of halloween was supposed to be 12 and something minutes, now dont get me wrong, im grateful you uploaded this, it brought a lot of memories back.

i just remember the song being well over 11-12 minutes.

I like the quirkiness of it. However, I don't know if I would have had the patience to stick it out and hear more. I puts me in the mind of the era where Oingo Boingo was around. I lost patience for him real quick. But we see how a group can evolve. I don't like it when artist purposely skew the words so we can't get them. Even thought Dave sounds like he's going through a possession, I still like his voice. What courage, what style. I think the music as a group makes this song tolerable.
