  • When I was at Knox, would go to the station and its "Q" Restaurant - open 24/7 - would get a 'short stack' [two pancakes] for 25 cents - also a great place to watch trains - it was quite a station.

  • I remember the old building, and it was majestic...to say the least. Far better than whats there now.......what a pity how some things change for the worse.

  • Very nice, I arrived on the scene 8/19/85 with my " Training" in Galesburg, so I missed seeing this great Building.

  • I remember how big it seemed. It was always busy. I liked it better than the Santa Fe depot on Broad st. That one was demolished too and replaced with an ugly Butler building. Thank you for pasting.

  • this rr had a beauty of a terminal in rock island but it was torn down and replaced with a highrise for elderly..

  • That's great!

I've been wanting to model some of Galesburg's old railroad structures. Where did you get the plans?

  • that place would have been great for amtrak considering the traffic galesburg gets

  • It looks neat, a pity I never got to see it. Thanks for posting this, it was interesting.

  • Thanks for creating/posting this - it brought tears to my eyes to remember this magnificent building. I was a teenager and watched it literally being demolished...a tragic and short-sided decision on the part of the railway management at the time, which remains a great loss to history and the City of Galesburg.

  • Got to see it and experience it. When I was little the building seemed so huge. It was big city style.
