Why the hell would they have his mother die, rename grandpa chook, keep his granpa out of the story, Peekay came from Pisskop, where was harry crown, Grandpa never knew doc before Peekay, they met on a mountain side this is complete bullshit.
NOTHING like the book at all....i am kinda upset...i got my hopes up for this movie and they missed the train scene and the big hettie scene and SO MUCH MORE! i guess if you didnt read the book then the movie would be good....the book really opened my eyes....VERY good book
Someone should remake this movie but they'd still have only an hour and a half. They've lost a lot of the spirit of the book but at least they got some of it and brought light to horrible situation to the rest of the world. Whatever awards are out there, this movie should a received a few. For the music if nothing else. And I agree with Doc, any question you have can be answered in nature. Some are privilaged to have the Bible but God gave us nature/universe first. :)

i cant believe they missed the hoppie groenewald scene because that was pivotal for PK's "power of one" mentality, learning that small could beat big, the reason for him becoming a boxer
True man! Hoppie Groenewald is pivotal, because the movie is as much about boxing and self-development of Peekay as it is about apartheid. Plus, no mentioning of Miss Bornstein who helped the boy to get into the posh English school. And what about Rasputin who saved PK's life? Missed again... and the best final scene with the Judge! Anyhow, I think they must do a new movie, more carefully edited and using the best available technology of today!
