the little window in the front thats where the tool goes up side down move the spindle all the way up and put the tool upside down and call that tool and move the spinle down it will catch the tool I use th is machine every day I can send u the video

If anyone is curious, I traced it back to the Sweo/Baldor spindle drive being bad. I've sent that out for repair and hopefully it will be a functional mill after that.
