To get an idea of the power of David Hoffman's movie and Rusty Schweikert's poetic commentary on his experience as an Apollo 9 astronaut, my brief recounting of parts of it brought tears to my wife's eyes. We are ONE, we are intimately, connected. Thank you David, Thank you Rusty for articulating it so beautifully.
@harrynmason Thank you Harry. this film was made so long ago that I am considering redoing it and have contacted my wonderful narrator, now 89 years old, Peter Thomas. He wants to try to record the story again so I can put a variety of photos and images over the words. It is always a question whether or not to play with something once it has been completed but in this case, I think the message is at least as relevant today as it was when I made this film.
this is truly magnificent! what an amazing story! it almost bring me to tears! i thank god for all the beautiful planets that he created and all the sunrises, the sunsets, the everything.god, i love you.
the perspective from space must be incredible. the earth is a single, living organism and that all things impact all other things. Tree lines planted in China to control dust storms changed the nutrient levels in the north pacific and impacted salmon fisheries. burning of rainforests to create farmland not only destroys undiscovered species, but changes climate for all of us. We are dependent upon the health of the organism we call earth, not the other way around.
