  • The 90's had DAMN good music. But then, Kurt died. Followed by Big L, Biggie and Tupac. Then STALEY had to go and kick it. Before y'all start, I grew up on GOOD hip-hop, so chill with the hate. I just feel grunge kinda picked up where positive and gangsta rap left off in terms of brutality, relavence and the profound. After that, we got emo, hipsters, and MOTHERFUCKING..."swag". I swear, man. These guys knew how to BRING IT!! Know that you guys are TRULY missed...

  • I LOVE THIS VID!! love layne even more.. I love the way he feels the music..

I always kind of tripped out on how Jerry ALWAYS used that same GnL Guitar Model. Kinney has always looked the same, right? haha, well to sum it up, these guys were simply like Gods on steroids. Fucking Amazing. I wish I could have been there to shout "IF I WOULD COULD YOU"

  • Tomorrow is layne´s birthday! We love you, Layne!!! R.I.P. and have fun!

  • Laynie. I love you. This mf howls like no other mf, before or since. And, another excellent solo by Jerry Cantrell.

  • the host of this show is a fuckin douchebag i hate that guy. so many interviews ive seen hes such a douche bag. REST IN PEACE to the LEGENDARY LAYNE STALEY.

  • how dare you say layne staley is a fag he was one of the greatest in his times i will come there and shove a fishing pole down your throats cuz your the fag

  • wow 2431346 FUCK YOU YOU DB

  • the singer is a fag.

  • @2431346 good job your channels not available you cunt

  • @2431346 OK. lets see, when the whole grunge scene was just starting in seattle, alice in chains (yes, dumbass, this includes layne staley the lead singer) were known for getting all the girls. So, obviously he isnt. Along with uh layne is probably one of the best (in my opinion THE best) vocalists ever. Even people who dont like AIC agree. So really, you have no room to say that.

  • @moubre2 me too. I've watched Would? live 30 times just between last night and today. I like the performance in Rio a lot. It's weird how much I like this song. I just have this pure visceral reaction every time I hear it. Like some indescribable melancholy, nostalgic feeling.

  • One of rocks best voices EVER!

  • that must have been the best singles party ever

  • I'd like to know have many separate people have actually watched this cause i know i've put in at least 30 views.

  • jdu6...... Ur a dick dude first of all if it was that easy dont you think layne and mike woul have " gotten the monkey off there back" its not jus easy as sayn i quit... rest in love mike and layne

  • 30 people that need to jump off a fucking cliff right now! Best live performance of would hands down. Staley was on this day.

  • i just bought the exact same guitar jerry has i felt like i was in Alice in Chains for a second

  • if alice in chains continued without william duvall, i wonder if they would be better or worse then when they had him.

  • Pure awesomeness

  • @MrEdobob Told ya :)

  • mike starr all smacked up....wtf....should of got the monkey off your back

  • When my brother was in the band Agression out of Denver-he met Layne several times playing and said 'he was just the nicest person who loved music'.

  • Besides having tremendous star quality-Layne was fully endowed with 'Blue eyed soul'. He worked his voice like a guitar.

  • Layne. You will always be remembered as an Animal!! I will show my grand kids what you did brother!! Own your peace and rest well Layne!!

  • 2:33, That's fucking talent.

    You will be missed, brother.

  • @exeter13 you mean he won't be missed?

  • Alice in chains doing wood lol

  • oh yes my favorite Alice In Chains song

  • 2 beautiful boys gone <3 <3 DONT DO EFFNN DRUGS !!!!

  • AlanaCicchi you are one of the lucky ones almost 10 yrs since he's been gone I've never met him but miss him like a family member and what passes me off is that the music world just swept him under the rug never to mention again...nobody even comes close to those vocals and in my opinion never will

  • 30 people are deph

  • @Megaboot101 and 1 person is stupid...

  • I was fortunate to not only see them live several times, but also to have met and known Layne personally for a few years time.He was a decent guy,I thought, and talented, and without the drugs hed not have been the same person I know.

  • rip mike and layne

  • @cbarrett34 Mike was drummer? Sorry don't know this band so good.

  • best live

  • Sean such a driving force-better than a Timex for keeping the right time. Excellent drummer. Virtuosos all four of them. It really astounds me when musicians come together at a young age and are all so totally synchronous. (and also all really cute too)

  • I swear, I just creamed in my panties hearing Layne scream.

    ;)

  • worms enjoy

  • what a voice

  • their music was just plain out kick ass. and inspirational also....i love them. and miss Layne badly even though i never had the golden ticket to see him live.

  • man they sounded tight here, laynes voice had a nice little rasp on it too! RIP half the band!

  • awesome

    layne we miss you

  • that awkward moment when you apologize to replay button for raping it

  • @XxabsentlifexX Haha Fair enough

  • "this is alice in chains?" LOL gtfo kid

  • @Volcanistry That "kid" is Anthony Kiedis from RHCP LOL

  • @Volcanistry yeah Kedis was making fun of the host Keidis was trying to say 'no shit that's alice in chains asshole'.

  • @Volcanistry C'mon now, it is a little shitty knowing that Anthony Kiedis didnt even know who they were, but at the same time, its fucking Anthony Kiedis!!!! From RHCP!!!!!

  • @HellsAngelsofNC ...who suck

  • @spiral2012 shut up.

  • @HellsAngelsofNC lol! i didn't even notice, but it sure is!

  • @Volcanistry seriously...kid shoulda gotten smacked

  • @Jroy9108 That Kid ... is Anthony Kiedis .... So he doesnt deserve a Smack :D

  • @97stab I'll smack em right now if you gimme the chance

  • @97stab Kiedis is cool. But he doesnt stand a chance against Staley.

  • @97stab Kiedis is cool. But he doesnt stand a chance against Staley.

  • Intro´s bass line is one of the nicest sounds in music ever... Epic song

  • @XxabsentlifexX what about Mike Patton? Zack De La Rocha? Chris Cornell?

  • 30 people didn't see it my way, and I don't particularly care for the views that they possess.

  • Still one THE BEST clips on the TOOB! 4 dudes who really hit their stride the last time ROCK had something gutsy/meaningful/original and NEW to offer the world!!!

  • 30 people suck and don't know great music

  • Rare film with both Layne on vox and Mike Starr on bass. Both now deceased.

  • Alice in Chains and Nirvana = Best bands out of Washington...no, the world!

  • This may be my fave early AIC live video - along with their performance of Junkhead from this same MTV show. Sound is good, they look healthy - all around awesome.

  • SEAN KICKS ASS

  • @BlindMelon1993 The whole band kicks ass.

  • @SoWachuWan agreed!!! 100%

  • I grew up on this awesomeness, and kids today are growing up on Beeber and Billy Ray's spawn. Is this the end of Western Civilization as we know it?

  • @playadominical I also grew up with this music...seems that every past decade (60,70,80,90) is better than ours...it's so sad. Music nowadays depends too much on money and "appearance"

  • we miss you so much layne...

  • @danathor99 why?

  • RIP Lane

  • 2:32 ! yes!!!!!
