That's not entirely true. I have a video of me playing this game and the first Road to the Infinity on a US region PS2. You simply need to purchase a swap disk setup and you can play pretty much any PS2 region game you want without having to modify your system.

sorry, i didn't note your comment.... its late to reply, maybe....
this game is on PlayStation 2 for Japan, so certainly couldn't play on that for America because they have different region code.
of course, thats okay if you can buy PS2 for Japan.
