  • I like pie

  • OMG! You made my life so much easier!

  • Beats reading the manual. Thanks.

  • great tip number 17

  • hey, may I be able to sample or sequence a chord with this? I mean, setting this so when I hit a note the chord would ring

  • Can you assign a midi input to control the start, end, loop start, loop end so you can edit either on the fly.. or in my case chop samples with my midi controllers knobs setting start and end points with a few knobs.. That would be much faster than choppng with a mouse.. Especially if you have a laptop and only have a track pad..

  • thanx a lot james. i know im saying that to all of your videos but it helped me a lot. wish u all the best =)

  • Dude, you just opened up a whole new world of home music production to me. I had no idea that the NN-XT was that versatile, and you basically just taught me how to do all of those badass things that I've been wanting to learn for a while now. Thank you!

  • Hands Down the best and most informative vid about sampling in reason 5 I've been able to find! Thanks Bro!!!

  • hey, i dont suppose you could help me out with something thats been driving me nuts for ages. say ive got a 2 sec loop and i want the pitch higher, i cant seem to keep the loop 2 seconds long when the pitch goes up? the higher it is the quicker it is and its driving me crazy! im sure theres got to be an easy way of doing it! pleeease help!!

  • @kahn18 get record ;)

  • I'm using reason 5. how do I change the resolution of the sample start/end percentage on the nn-xt? i have tried setting the mouse knob control range to 'very precise', but the percentage difference is still 0.4% compared to 0.1%.. plz help..

  • @subscriber954 Hold down shift while changing the parameter.

  • Soooo useful, wow. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent clicking and dragging sample zones and fixing pitch elements in the NN-XT to get it playable the way I want.... and now I've discovered Automap Zones. Excellent!

  • handy shtt! cheers

  • is there any way you can get just the vocals from a song, like without any other of the tracks behind it? ive tried several times with EQ but no luck- Ive seen you do something similar before in a different video- cant remember which one though.

  • @IkeProductions89 In week 9 JB shows how to do phase cancelling which inverts the phase of one channel of a stereo pair which cancels anything common to both channels, which is usually vocals, so it removes them. I've tried doing this with the other way round, but without success. There is a program called Photosound (demos are on youtube) which can remove vocals and isolate them using a spectrograph painting approach. It's not perfect, still some artifacts from the instruments, but worth a try.

  • ned rush digs this video.

  • i only wish the loop controls could be automated.

i end up needing to make multiple instances of the same sample with different loop settings and having to trigger them sequentially to get that effect

but direct manipulation of that knob would be awesome.....

...just putting it out there ;)

  • can you show us how to really use the beat repeater..like in hiphop repeating on beat

  • @bossplayaz1 check out my channel for making your own beat repeaters. sorry for the shameless self promotion james...

  • @MrNedRush Plug away!
