@YalaBubbles If it didn't work, you might be doing something wrong, as this is a documented method which should work when done correctly. You need to keep the keys pressed till the phone boots past the Nokia logo.

The problem with mine is when I go connect the wifi in settings and when I choose the wifi for my home it straight away says General: Memory Full. Close some applications and try again.

My Nokia N97 has developed another fault, I was updating from laptop and plugged cable out from laptop and it hadn't finished downloading and my Nokia n97 just turned off itself and refuses to turn back on even when i took battery back out and tried again I sent it to Nokia for a repair they said it has water damage please can some one help me with this problem, many thanks.

if this only wipes the phone memory, how do i format the mass memory?

im sure there are some bugs or trojans of somekind on my phone and i want to completely clear out everything?

@Kingmatthewshaun You can format the Mass Memory through the File Manager.

The bugs which are present in the FW can only be fixed via FW updates. Make sure you keep your device updated. As far as trojans are concerned, you can breathe easy. AFAIK, except for some malware which you have to sign & install, there are no viruses or trojans on S60v5.

@NickyGangstah16 Yeah, you loose all the contacts, messages, settings & any data on the phone's internal memory aka C drive. It gets flashed & restored to the factory settings.

@gamerf09 If I remember well, it wipes ur phone memory, but leaves the Mass Memory untouched. I'm not sure about contacts saved in the phone.
