  • a lot of ducks are monogamous for the most part, but research shows they do mate with another partner if their partner is killed or lost.. hunting isn't a bad thing as long as you respect what you kill and hunt legally. hunting equipment also has an 11% tax that goes to wildlife research. if people didn't hunt, i'd be out of my job. wooded ducks almost went endangered a while back and its because of this research money that theyve recovered. but now feeding the ducks has given them a pop. burst

  • i shot a female hooded merganser when i went hunting.

  • why??? does it give you pleasure to take life of a beautiful creature? DId you know they mate for life? So the one you killed destroyed another. Yo tha man!

  • @breezycov actually they don't. most ducks do not. like wood ducks they are cavity layers and can breed 2 or so times a spring and raise several broods. these two species are fighting each other to be the dominate species of the area so, population control is key.

  • I have a couple of this Hooded Mergansers, she are Beautiful!!

  • Are they all yours?
