Missouri is actually chock full of them. They generally do a pretty good job of avoiding people though. You gotta really get out into the sticks to find them. I've had lots of luck around rocky ledges along the rivers and quarries. Those places are typically loaded with them.
yea I love hots, a friend of mine does alota work withhot snakes espiclay Southern Pitvipers like canebreaks. As for the name, ibelive it was because theyw here often found along the edge of Cane feilds hunting mice. Canebreak usualy refers to the more northern snakes, while timber rattler is our more southern guys.
these are verry awsome snakes :) ifi was closer i would offer to take him off your hands for ya lol.
I can put u in touch with someone who can tell u more if you want.
cool, thanks, I've got another video I'm working on right now. We fed it a mouse tonight, and it's a vid of the feeding, it was pretty sweet to watch.
still in the trashcan. Sort of a holding pattern so everyone feels safe. The lid snaps on, even though I doubt he could get out if the lid was off. He's about 44" long and has 9 full rattles.
he sounds beautiful :) the camera doesn;t do him justice. I sent you a PM with2 links an what nt since these lil boxes don;t offermuch room for talkin lol!

They are probably the meanest snake in America. I wouldn't get too close to one.
