Great recap as usual, Sean! Hubby & I discussed the possibility the blonde boy is either Jacob or represents the island, as you mentioned. It seemed to us the MIB is stuck with Locke either because of Jacob's death or because of the bomb explosion. We think he was Christian, Alex, etc... Also, blonde boy said Flock/MIB couldn't kill him - we think Sawyer which is why he took Sawyer down the rickety ladder. Just like he had Ben kill Jacob.

and the numbers can mean a lot of things in the same time, they are important because these numbers led some people to their 'destiny'(island) Desmond, had to repeat the numbers, that was his purpose, Jacob brought Desmond to the Island, so that Desmond could push the button and one day he wont make it, and the oceanic plane will crash. The numbers can describe the character's in some different way their personality, a lot of the char's have changed since "the beginning"

Awesome! Can't wait til the next episode. I really have a feeling that the kid's mum is Juliet. It just seems to fit seeing as it'll probably be someone we know. Ethan showed up in Claire/Kate's flashsideways and Ben in Locke's, so I think it makes sense for Juliet to make an appearance. Either that or it could be his ex wife Sarah that he broke up with, maybe they're still together in this. Or maybe it could just be some complete new randomer, but knowing Lost I doubt it.
well Shephard is... its assumed it is Jack, but it could mean Christian.. also, in the lighthouse episode, it showed Jack's house from when he was a kid, so Christian would also have lived there

There's clearly two sets of "others" now. There's the "others" that follow Jacob, Richard, and Ben, and theres the "others" that are "infected" and follow MIB. Claire is totally insane now. She committed a hate crime :)
As 10ashley said, I think Richard was actually in there and he wrote the names down. I think he worked for Jacob and Jacob told him which names to write and which ones to cross off. That's why his name isn't on the wall. He's pretty much Jacobs slave and that is what Flocke meant by the chains thing. Although I don't know how he could be crossing off all the names and on the island at the same time. Maybe he has an evil twin lol
the radio tower was playing the rescue message of russoe (dont know how to spell) in french but before, when russoe arrived to the island there was a message recording "4 8 15 16 23 42"... there eaqch number was said by a different person... maby it were them, each one said there own number... i dont remember which episode it was...
That guy seasons ago told claire aaron would be bad, as she didn`t raise him in the island`s timeline, he could be MiB. Also we are all assuming mib is teh bad one, but knowing lost as we know it, who knows what can happen. I find it really weird that we still dont know mib`s name, even Richard who knows him doesn`t say his name, so I can assume he is someone we already know, and the producers dont want us to find out just yet. Ok thats a theory i`ve been thinking on lately, what do u think??

Then Sawyers parents should be alive, coz Locke was born in the 50's. Then what is Sawyer on the plane? His parents should be alive, so he doesen't have to go to austrailia to find the man who made his dad kill his mum. Locke was born before 1977, so something is very wrong. They changed the past, but just from 1977. Someone else must have been timetravelling or something, someone from the time AFTER 1977.

I think we shouldn't assume that Others knew about Jacobs wall list, I believe it was his secret project ;) In 'The Incident' Ben said that Jacob, through the years, gave him many lists with names. Why assume they were lists with candidates?

If Kate isn't 108 another major character might be. Maybe Walt or Desmond. Hell it could even be Vincent. Who's watching the dog? I find myself wondering that every season.
My theory on the numbers is that Kate will be the "variable". I think you'll see her name on the wall with the number 108. I know alot of people hate her character. So, take a deep breath... She's gonna play a major role in the end game. Maybe even have to choose between Sawyer and Jack to become the next "Smokey". What do you think?
Also I believe Claire's name is crossed off because she is claimed. Miles also because he was given the choice on which side he wanted to play on. Sayid? Your call
Personally, I think the biggest question is why smokey can't carry a machete around. He just left it there next to Richard when he was tied up. We know that Flock can take his backpack with him...why not a knife? Also...can Flock lie? He appears to have to answer every question truthfully, albeit a bit vague.
SeanieB, I think your missing the fact that the monster is becoming Locke. With the car scene you can tell Locke is an asshole , you cant tell him anything. Don't tell me what I can't do is what he screams. Remember in the foot temple, Locke tells Ben, Locke's memory of why are you kill me Ben. Locke's traits are becoming part of the Monsters traits.
I like to think that the 4 Locke is missing the - because they liked the term "flocke" 4 can be substituted for F online and the first letter of 4 is F. Or i'm wrong :d
Flocke is trapped in Locke's appearance because Ilana destroyed the Cabin. Remember she says someone has been 'using' it, when they find it in "The Incident".
another possible reason that the cave with the numbers on it could be the Flocke-ness Monster is that Juliet's name Burke is crossed off. She died after Jacob. How would he have crossed her off the list if he was dead?
I think the numbers are not intentional by Jacob. I think that the 'fate' of the numbers is bigger than Jacob. Whatever this third entity is, it can control fate, meteors ect and the Candidates who's numbers are 'the numbers' survived so long because they were given the numbers coincidentally.
The boy HAD to've been Jacob. There's no way that they would cast a kid that looks so eerily similar to his adult actor just for him to play someone else. The eyes and hair are DEAD on.
Since the theory is that there are two smoke monsters (One is controlled by the MIB and the other is Jacob's) is so relevent this season, maybe that was Jacob's smoke monster taking the form of himself when he was younger? Kind of a farfetched theory and im 95% likely to be wrong but who knows?
The little boy is Jacob. I believe that this is a young version of Jacob going through time travel. He came this far to the future and saw what the man in black was doing; that he would be killed by him. This makes sense because Jacob was not surprised when he was murdered. It also falls into place with Eli Hawking's theory of time. You can't change the future. And I think when he said "You can't kill him" it was referring to Locke.
All the numbers in the cave could represent the total equation, for the man in black to find the loophole, he must find the constants (4 8 15 16 23 42) to achieve his optimal result = being to get off the island. He could have manipulated people (like jacob) off the island to work over the years (widmore). Widmore and Man in Black working together so one can come back and one can leave the island.
jack's seat on 815 was 23a so that's weird he's 23. i dunno why kate wasn't on the wall. maybe she is there to make jack or sawyer stay, since they are both on the wall. the numbers could just be a coincidence that they aren't crossed out. now that locke is crossed out, 4 doesn't count anymore.
on a sidenote i read my mom's lottery ticket and i said 4 8 15 and my sister looked at me like omgwtf but i was just kidding haha it was awesome

My theory as to who the blonde boy is as it follows: The blonde boy is actually Jacob trying to mess with the MIB's head. Jacob made him believe that he managed to finally find the loophole by having Ben being the one to kill him, but he was wrong and as a result, Jacob was reborn and the loop was continued. That explains, in my opinion, both why Locke/MIB was so surprised to see the kid and why Sawyer was able to sim him aswell (being that they had made contact earlier in Sawyer's life)
MIB said that Jacob had a thing for numbers, so that could be a reference of numerology. I don't know the meaning of every number in numerology, but i think there's a reson of why is the number 4 always related to Locke, like the box in which they put his body numer is 823 = 8+2+3 = 13 In numerology = 4
Maybe MIB is gettin his own candidates to replace him so he can leave the island. Maybe he will trick sawyer into being the next MIB and trap him on the island.

I think that the boy is the third head of the Cerberus security system. When Flocke tosses the white stone off of the cliff there is still one element of the balance still there and that is the scale itself. The boy acts as the system that keeps things equal. I also think that the boy is actually Vincent the dog.

That is an interesting idea. I thought the boy was Aaron and I can't say why I think that except that I just know Aaron has to play a bigger role than he is/has. I see Aaron as being symbolic of the Christ child being born to earth as man's salvation.
But I hadn't thought about the boy being Jacob; I like that idea too.
I forgot to add this, but I also think Aaron will be extremely important is because the episode last season about him was titled, 'The Little Prince", I believe. Maybe it's just me or I missed something, but nothing in that episode made it clear as to why it was titled that. So maybe it was foreshadowing. Who knows
Another reason that Kate and Sun's name may not be on the list is that they were or are currently pregnant on the island. Maybe this is why all of the pregnant women on the island were dying because they were not pregnant with the candidate's child and the island only wanted this special child to be born there. This is would also explain why Aaron is so special.
I think that jin could be the islands new protector cuz remember when he gives a panda to sun when their child is born. This is like when jacob leaves the island to select his candidates. i also think that your preference theory is backwards meaning that jin is the the prefered candidate!
Also, it is interesting to note that Jack's number (23) is the only prime number and that the series finale is on May 23rd. I woiuld love to know what you think about the Kate being pregnant theory. Hey Seanie B-Couldn't it be that the reason Kate's name is not on the wall is because she is pregnant with the ultimate candidate's child (Jack from last season's 316 episode?). You gave me this idea from your recap of that episode when you said you thought Kate was pregnant and therefore she was the replacement for Claire being pregnant on Flight 316. Maybe that is her special purpose on the island.
The boy has to be Jacob in some form. Remember while Flocke and Sawyer are walking through the jungle and the boy says "sdfs"...it has to be him, or mabye Jacob can manifest himself in other forms just like MIB can.
As for the numbers, there has to be something with the flight number 815 because a lot of the numbers can be made out of combinations of the numbers 8, 1, and 5.

i think blode boy was on the plane because if you remember on one of the episodes (cant remember which lol) where you see what happened to the survivors of 815 on the tail section . the "others" ( in this case possibaly the temple peeps) take people from the camp to maybe the temple for some reason i can remember 2 kids been taken (like the lady in the temple said they where on the same plane as me or somthing to her leader) then he got to know the know the "rules" and he became a messenger

ben was haeled in the clear water at the temple, and went on to kill jacob.
jacob told hurley to take sayid to the temple and he was healed in the dark water.... does this mean that sayid is now the only one that can kill MIB

Awesome! Can't wait til the next episode. I really have a feeling that the kid's mum is Juliet. It just seems to fit seeing as it'll probably be someone we know. Ethan showed up in Claire/Kate's flashsideways and Ben in Locke's, so I think it makes sense for Juliet to make an appearance. Either that or it could be his ex wife Sarah that he broke up with, maybe they're still together in this. Or maybe it could just be some complete new randomer, but knowing Lost I doubt it.

As 10ashley said, I think Richard was actually in there and he wrote the names down. I think he worked for Jacob and Jacob told him which names to write and which ones to cross off. That's why his name isn't on the wall. He's pretty much Jacobs slave and that is what Flocke meant by the chains thing. Although I don't know how he could be crossing off all the names and on the island at the same time. Maybe he has an evil twin lol

the radio tower was playing the rescue message of russoe (dont know how to spell) in french but before, when russoe arrived to the island there was a message recording "4 8 15 16 23 42"... there eaqch number was said by a different person... maby it were them, each one said there own number... i dont remember which episode it was...

That guy seasons ago told claire aaron would be bad, as she didn`t raise him in the island`s timeline, he could be MiB. Also we are all assuming mib is teh bad one, but knowing lost as we know it, who knows what can happen. I find it really weird that we still dont know mib`s name, even Richard who knows him doesn`t say his name, so I can assume he is someone we already know, and the producers dont want us to find out just yet. Ok thats a theory i`ve been thinking on lately, what do u think??

Yeah, but maybe it could be Ben's dad? We will maybe find out later.. One thing I think is very fitting though is that the "Last Supper" photos where he spotted Miles and Claire where the only ones to switch.. Locke is in the middle as Jesus and Sawyer is the one standing in Judas' place in the photo.. Maybe Sawyer will betray Flocke later on?

Then Sawyers parents should be alive, coz Locke was born in the 50's. Then what is Sawyer on the plane? His parents should be alive, so he doesen't have to go to austrailia to find the man who made his dad kill his mum. Locke was born before 1977, so something is very wrong. They changed the past, but just from 1977. Someone else must have been timetravelling or something, someone from the time AFTER 1977.

I think we shouldn't assume that Others knew about Jacobs wall list, I believe it was his secret project ;) In 'The Incident' Ben said that Jacob, through the years, gave him many lists with names. Why assume they were lists with candidates?

My theory on the numbers is that Kate will be the "variable". I think you'll see her name on the wall with the number 108. I know alot of people hate her character. So, take a deep breath... She's gonna play a major role in the end game. Maybe even have to choose between Sawyer and Jack to become the next "Smokey". What do you think?
Also I believe Claire's name is crossed off because she is claimed. Miles also because he was given the choice on which side he wanted to play on. Sayid? Your call

Personally, I think the biggest question is why smokey can't carry a machete around. He just left it there next to Richard when he was tied up. We know that Flock can take his backpack with him...why not a knife? Also...can Flock lie? He appears to have to answer every question truthfully, albeit a bit vague.

SeanieB, I think your missing the fact that the monster is becoming Locke. With the car scene you can tell Locke is an asshole , you cant tell him anything. Don't tell me what I can't do is what he screams. Remember in the foot temple, Locke tells Ben, Locke's memory of why are you kill me Ben. Locke's traits are becoming part of the Monsters traits.

I think the numbers are not intentional by Jacob. I think that the 'fate' of the numbers is bigger than Jacob. Whatever this third entity is, it can control fate, meteors ect and the Candidates who's numbers are 'the numbers' survived so long because they were given the numbers coincidentally.

The boy HAD to've been Jacob. There's no way that they would cast a kid that looks so eerily similar to his adult actor just for him to play someone else. The eyes and hair are DEAD on.
Since the theory is that there are two smoke monsters (One is controlled by the MIB and the other is Jacob's) is so relevent this season, maybe that was Jacob's smoke monster taking the form of himself when he was younger? Kind of a farfetched theory and im 95% likely to be wrong but who knows?

The little boy is Jacob. I believe that this is a young version of Jacob going through time travel. He came this far to the future and saw what the man in black was doing; that he would be killed by him. This makes sense because Jacob was not surprised when he was murdered. It also falls into place with Eli Hawking's theory of time. You can't change the future. And I think when he said "You can't kill him" it was referring to Locke.

All the numbers in the cave could represent the total equation, for the man in black to find the loophole, he must find the constants (4 8 15 16 23 42) to achieve his optimal result = being to get off the island. He could have manipulated people (like jacob) off the island to work over the years (widmore). Widmore and Man in Black working together so one can come back and one can leave the island.

jack's seat on 815 was 23a so that's weird he's 23. i dunno why kate wasn't on the wall. maybe she is there to make jack or sawyer stay, since they are both on the wall. the numbers could just be a coincidence that they aren't crossed out. now that locke is crossed out, 4 doesn't count anymore.
on a sidenote i read my mom's lottery ticket and i said 4 8 15 and my sister looked at me like omgwtf but i was just kidding haha it was awesome

And I agree with the preference theory, or it might just be that Jacob found out the names of candidates and numbered them as he went along to keep track.

My theory as to who the blonde boy is as it follows: The blonde boy is actually Jacob trying to mess with the MIB's head. Jacob made him believe that he managed to finally find the loophole by having Ben being the one to kill him, but he was wrong and as a result, Jacob was reborn and the loop was continued. That explains, in my opinion, both why Locke/MIB was so surprised to see the kid and why Sawyer was able to sim him aswell (being that they had made contact earlier in Sawyer's life)

MIB said that Jacob had a thing for numbers, so that could be a reference of numerology. I don't know the meaning of every number in numerology, but i think there's a reson of why is the number 4 always related to Locke, like the box in which they put his body numer is 823 = 8+2+3 = 13 In numerology = 4

Sawyer and Kate were the only losties who got visited by Jacob when they were kids.

I think that the boy is the third head of the Cerberus security system. When Flocke tosses the white stone off of the cliff there is still one element of the balance still there and that is the scale itself. The boy acts as the system that keeps things equal. I also think that the boy is actually Vincent the dog.

That is an interesting idea. I thought the boy was Aaron and I can't say why I think that except that I just know Aaron has to play a bigger role than he is/has. I see Aaron as being symbolic of the Christ child being born to earth as man's salvation.

I forgot to add this, but I also think Aaron will be extremely important is because the episode last season about him was titled, 'The Little Prince", I believe. Maybe it's just me or I missed something, but nothing in that episode made it clear as to why it was titled that. So maybe it was foreshadowing. Who knows

Another reason that Kate and Sun's name may not be on the list is that they were or are currently pregnant on the island. Maybe this is why all of the pregnant women on the island were dying because they were not pregnant with the candidate's child and the island only wanted this special child to be born there. This is would also explain why Aaron is so special.

Hey Seanie B-Couldn't it be that the reason Kate's name is not on the wall is because she is pregnant with the ultimate candidate's child (Jack from last season's 316 episode?). You gave me this idea from your recap of that episode when you said you thought Kate was pregnant and therefore she was the replacement for Claire being pregnant on Flight 316. Maybe that is her special purpose on the island.

The boy has to be Jacob in some form. Remember while Flocke and Sawyer are walking through the jungle and the boy says "sdfs"...it has to be him, or mabye Jacob can manifest himself in other forms just like MIB can.
As for the numbers, there has to be something with the flight number 815 because a lot of the numbers can be made out of combinations of the numbers 8, 1, and 5.

i think blode boy was on the plane because if you remember on one of the episodes (cant remember which lol) where you see what happened to the survivors of 815 on the tail section . the "others" ( in this case possibaly the temple peeps) take people from the camp to maybe the temple for some reason i can remember 2 kids been taken (like the lady in the temple said they where on the same plane as me or somthing to her leader) then he got to know the know the "rules" and he became a messenger
