the shapes here are very similar to the twin fin shapes of the early70's.
the reason they work is the wide tail helps catch the wave quicker and the concave makes the board skate on the wave.
I saw tom curran ride a board that had a rock for a fin- its not the board so much as the surfer..but the totally flat thin things are a mystery to me. why bother ?
