i can see a tactical use for a roll like that. to regain your feet after a fall or being tripped up. if you ever played football they teach you how to roll and get back up on your feet, no different. HOWEVER, i can't envision a squad of officers doing "tactical rolls" down the street to gain a better position! i take that back, i can envision that! it would be hilarious in a movie!

Good draw & fire training. You would be better served learning to shoot on the move so that you can keep engaging targets as you move for cover. Rolling is a last ditch effort if out of ammo and only if you will end up behind cover.
