Playing this game with Gameshark codes - after you finish it at least once - is so funny. The enemies are all like:"Yeah, we're FREAKING STRONG AND OVERPOWERED!"
Player:"Oh yeah? My party is lvl 99 with the best equipments and infinite HP and MP."
@sweepgomez Mine doesn't for some reason, but they want you to buy it on their network instead through the playstation store. Make sure you get the playstation version, and not the PSP version, I made that mistake and they won't refund me for tricking me with the pretext that you buy games at their store, to play on the ps3, unless they're games, not for the the ps3. Fucking Sony...
I've noticed everybody keeps complaining about how powerful choco meteor is. Has anyone noticed that choco meteor deals less damage than choco attack, which is a move where they simply peck at the enemy with their beak?
@SkyCloudPrincess The ones to really worry about are the Black Chocobos. The triple blast thing is the actual strongest Chocobo attack, by a decent margin, though meteor still has the best range because of its vertical. Now if you just put all variations in one battle (that damn waterfall river), it's a pain in the ass.
@KlausBass Tailwind Tailwind Tailwind Tailwind Tailwind Tailwind until you got like 3 consecutive turns so you can Tailwind even more like 3 times in a row LOL
I was so overpowered at this point in the game the first thing I said when I entered the batlle was:"WEAR THE FACE OF DESPAIR!FOR THIS IS AN EXECUTION!YOUR EXECUTION!!!
@Cruzman3609 Why don't you just go and play your "decent" Call of Duty? Ugh, that name doesn't deserve to be remembered here. You would not have idea what quality even if it would bitch-slap you in the face.
I remember this random battle music well; I was up until the wee hours of the morning leveling up my calculator and this track always made me extremely drowsy.
The echo of my enemies death throes made this epic music even better. Not only did this game have an amazing soundtrack, but it is one of the best composed RPGs out there imho. Thanks for the upload.
I always felt bad killing chocobos. But when you've got Gafgarion and a nearly impossible battle to win, you don't have a choice in getting stronger. :-(
Awwww such an awesome soundtrack. Never managed to play through this fairly hard game yet, but one day I will and if it's only for the sake of listening to this tune in game again. :D
I can't enough of this theme. Like others, I just picture a vast green field. I like this particular theme as it's a nice break from all the other intense and epic battle themes.
@MrHoyQ The bells make it sound like a chapel in England/France/Germany or somewhere. I think of Sleeping Beauty when I hear this which also takes place in Europe.
@EXOmegaZero lol u rite. theyre not a threat in other FF games. even in FF7 u race with them but THIS game, these bastards can jump over buildins fly drop meteors..... n datz also why red chocobos make good fighters lol
Imagine living in the ff tactics world. I would be a no nonsense rogue knight who wants to beat the crap out of the royal families and nobles with badass music
@WillC haha nice! I would be a Dark Knight, and just do stuff for gil be a hired Mercenary like my favorite character Gafgarion, He was very strong and smart.. he did what he had to do for money! and you get stronger fighting so much!
@RyhthmDefined i heard this when i got the rare 11 monk fight, even with my dad sitting next to me, i yelled FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!! not to mention i hadn't saved in forever -_-
Amazing use of scales here. It's also a perfect sister song to 'Random Waltz', and I can't help but think of both songs when my mind drifts off to how much time I spent on the Mandalia Plains.
I love how soothing this song is, even if it's for a battle. Amidst all the tension and drama between the storyline battles, just getting into a battle and hearing this song really calmed me down and helped me regain my composure.
wow if I didn't know any better, I would've thought this was from FFXII. Love the Ivalice soundtracks, the composer knows how to capture the same feel for the world in two different games. AND WOW 1:00 gives me chills. Anybody know where I can find the song that plays at the start up screen?
I always love going into an random battle and seeing an enemy HUMAN. I always loved that because I can get powerful weapons and armor very early in the game.

Know what's crazy. When you're in love with a soundtrack, then in love with like 5 others (radiant silvergun, dragon quarter, ffXII) and then realize it's the same dude. So awesome. Love this tune. Maybe because I trained right before the execution so much.

it's too bad the FFXII soundtrack was such a letdown, as soon as you started playing it had that great Ivalice feel but it was all such bland elevator music. Exceptions being Eruyt Village and Ozmone plain
No, I loved FFXII music, it defines Ivalice perfectly. There's nothing wrong with it at all, but I guess that's just your opinion, I can't really fault you for that. xD
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I just thought so much of it was elevator music. Some truly awful tracks like the John Williams/Star wars-esque Phon Coast theme. When you got to the Battle with Gilgamesh you were like OH YEAH this is what FF is supposed to sound like.
I loved the Ivalice-like feel of it, you could def. tell it was the same composer. I also hated how some tracks got used multiple times and diluted their emotional meaning esp. The Raithwall's TOmb/Old Archades etc. theme.
I have to agree, you're right about Phon Coast, heh, not my favorite track. But things like Paramina Rift, or Ashe's Theme, The Great Crystal, Salikawood, Necrohol of Nabudis, Nabreus Deadlands, and the overall theme of XII, and the track used in the 1st part of the ending, they're all beautiful pieces that represent what Ivalice is perfectly. FFTA2, FFTA, and especially FFT also represent Ivalice is such a special way, depending on the timeline of Ivalice. FFXII suits the Golden Era nicely.
I love the pirated tunes in FFTA2. I just wish the story wasn't for 4 year olds. In some respects I think Square is getting lazy with the GBA rpgs. I want a new FFTactics for the major systems that isn't for kiddies. Speaking of stories, FFXII really fell apart toward the end, and Vayne was the lamest villain since Kuja.
Really? I agree Vayne was lame, but I think the Ocurria was the perfect touch. The whole thing with Cid, Venat, and Gabranth are just fine. I think Cid or the Ocurria themselves should have been more added in as more important enemies in the game, rather than Vayne.
The FFTA2 story is so childish compared to FFT, but if you allow yourself to just enjoy it and take in Ivalice some more, it can still be quite enjoyable sometimes.
What I like to see is a 3D Tactics game. That would be somethin'.
@Kicks42 I know what you mean. I loved this OST in an anime called Romeo x Juliet (so much it made me watch it-- disappointment though... but yeah, pwr of the music..) and I realized it was the same guy who composed FF12.
