If you watch the video and actually look at whats going on. Yes, they broke the law. But it was all after the cop had started to go on his power trip. When I was that age if a cop overreacted to something like that I would have been a smart ass and tried running instead of putting up with that shit.

2-i believe the behavior exhibited by the skaters in this video and the skaters commenting here is one of the worst things for civil liberties: normal people won't take skaters or anyone who supports them seriously after seeing these videos and the comments that skaters make here

i never what happened before the cop started to get angry so i can't assume anything.
but if your correct on these kids were skating here and the cop asked them to leave in a proper manner without raising his voice or anything and the skaters just keep going, then i understand why the cop did it, but i cant assume that happened either.

We all have differing opinions. Some of us favor the cops, some of us favor the skaters. Lets at least agree on the FACTS.
THE COP DID NOT CHOKE THE GIRL. *DID NOT CHOKE*. Choke means to clamp the the neck or larynx and prevent breathing. His arm was loosely around her shoulders. He let her go almost immediately. Disagree on other things, BUT STOP SAYING HE CHOKED A 13 YEAR OLD GIRL. He clearly DID NOT.

i wouldnt define choking by clamping the airway, but by impediment of air... i know that position would impede the airflow to her lungs... what if one of these kids had asthma?
if this was such a "dangerous situation" as to require this kind of force, he should have called for backup.

but a cop wouldn't decide to do that, because i wouldn't be an ass like these "kids" and throw a tantrum (i.e., yell and scream, resist arrest, and assault a city worker) over it. if a cop caught me jaywalking, i'd take responsibility for breaking the law, pay the stupid fine/whatever, and that'd be the end of it.

Your analogy makes no sense. You're comparing an organized sport on an assigned playing field to kids skating where they are not allowed to. Its not like the cops went into a skate park and got them. Like I said in my original comment, its not illegal to go for a walk- but I could get in trouble for going for a walk around your yard at 3am. Common sense, man, common sense.

lets say hypothetically ur hobby is something like tennis, but your car is dead so you have to walk all the way across town just to get to the courts, so you get bored about 5 minutes into walking and decide to bounce the tennis ball up and down with the racket and you notice a sign saying NO TENNIS BALL BOUNCING and a cop decides to jump you, take you down, put his/her hands around your neck, flip you over and cuff you, does that seem fair for doing something as little at that?

this video simply does not show police brutality, and anyhow, an increase in videos does not equal an increase in police brutality.
accusations of police brutality should be reserved for actual cases of police brutality. and these "k1ll teh pi6s!" comments are unacceptable.
the bystanders in this video (which doesn't show police brutality) were getting knocked over by the skaters. listen carefully to the first or second video when the hidden camera is on the ground...

i'm doubting that the kid was even being choked, and instead just restrained, that pic is fuzzy as hell, and the source is horribly unreliable. these kids were TRYING to make the cops look bad.
just because the cop has his hands or arms on or around the neck doesn't mean he's choking them. cops are allowed to use that force to make an arrest, if necessary. if you don't want to be arrested, don't break the damn law, and if you ARE that stupid, don't resist arrest.
