does anybody know of a working english torrent of this game??ive been tryin' to find one ever since the game came out..and that was a long time ago..still no luck
Oh, I would chosen to play it on Hard from the beginning if I'd had the option. But the version of the game that I got doesn't have "Hard" mode, only "Normal".
I think if it dpends of you have the real orginal version or somerthing like that, and there should of been a white emelas sword that you get after you get the mirror :D
There is a way to stop some of isha's power from going into him, just fiddle with the buttons alot and fast, and soem will return to her and he wont be as tough or something XD

i did notice that occasionally some of the white thingies fly off the screen rather than into ernst. sadly, i think it's a bug with no effect on subsequent difficulty.
ys iii for snes was my first ys. i agree it was quite good. if you liked it, you should try the remake of it, 'oath in felghana', if you haven't played it yet. it's the same story, music, and characters, remade and in 3d : )
I did try felghana...But it just felt wrong. Do you remember that scene from ys 3 where Adol was tossed from the ilvern ruins into the fire dungeon? THAT WAS EPIC...it didnt feel epic in felghana though :S
Yeah, I think they softened the game a bit when they made the new version of it, and that ended up including Chester. But I also like seeing the characters and music reborn : ) And I find the 3d gameplay enjoyable as well.

It was ported to PS2, including an Enlish and possibly other translations. The PC version was only in Japanese, though. You can check Wikipedia for more info.
As for worth the money, I dunno. I'd say I enjoyed Ys: Oath in Felghana more than this one.

Well after 5 hours of gameplay I had the last sword level 8 I think (I'm no hard gamer) I donTknow where I'm now but I think it has been 10 hours and I'm currentely at 273 HP I jsut defeated the 3rd boss and completed the mirror... So how much gameplay remains? I don'T know :(
got me. i don't play most of the games when they are at their original prices. like, i just got my final fantasy x disc and started playing it yesterday.
these are a different type of gameplay from ff. they are action-rpgs, which means they emphasize more muscle memory, learning of monster movement patterns, etc over slow easy gameplay with lots of dialog, which seems to be the mold of later ff games.
music of the ys series is excellent, but different from ff's.
um well you can call me cheater or what ever but i need a infinite hp hack or something like that beacuse, i dont know shit japanes i have these game but wen i get here i dint knew you cant retun to the village of the outside i i am very low level and have no recovery items left in these guy so i get mi ass handed he kills me in like 4 freking hits pls i you know a hack pls help me and yea i only using 1 of the 50 saves slots lol
If you're asking about the swords, I think each sword can be upgraded 10 times, although I may be off by one.
As for Adol, I don't know what his max level is. My guess would be that he maxes out at level 99. However, I suspect that it would be massively difficult to get him that far.
No, no hacks. The green "Emelas" shield and the fully-upgraded fire sword both increase MP recovery rate. Also, each time Adol whacks Ernst with his sword, he gets a little boost of MP recovery as well.

In fact that's what I like about Ys games - they demand skill. Or at least the bosses usually do : )

I strongly believe the best ys, was ys III for snes/ genesis. They should have designed the phyiscs of this game more like zelda.
