It's also not true. A pound of feathers weighs more than a pound of gold. If you go to the gold store and buy a pound of gold, it will weigh less than a pound of feathers from the feather store.

Why? Gold is ALWAYS measured in troy weights. In the English system, feathers are measured in Imperial or Avoirdupois weights.
