  • Umm.. I hate to be nitpicky, but Saul knew David because David played the harp for Saul to ease his depression and nightmares.

  • @Dragon1813 That was after this.

  • if you take their interpretation he hits Goliath in the head with a stone from a sling which can kill people so wasn't any miracle from god. Someone that big would have been suffering from giantism which can cause an enlarged brain so a relatively minor blow in the head could kill him. He may have still been alive after getting hit in the head as it mentions David cut off his head, so he had to make sure he finished the job. So nowhere is any god needed in this.

  • BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO!! I ENJOYED THAT!

  • It would be nice to play it with a kind of play who will really resemble them this is all a eurpean shit

  • This crabbin' atheist Imaginefree69 can't do anything better with youtube except spam Christian videos

  • Which version of the Goliath story do you prefer?

The one in 2 Samuel 21

in which Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim kills Goliath

or the one in 1 Samuel 17

    in which David kills Goliath?

    I see two contradictory accounts.

In 1 Samuel 17 David kills Goliath,

whose "spear shaft was like a weaver's rod,"

In 2 Samuel 21 Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim kills Goliath,

"who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver's rod."

  • @Imaginefree69 In my study Bible is says this - "The parallel passage in I Chronicles 20:5, relates that Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath"

    So its the brother?

  • @AlanMolstad

In other words, it's another contradiction.

Was it Goliath, or was it his brother?

  • @Imaginefree69 ...Im out of town right now so I dont have that Bible Study,,,(Its the NIV Study Bible), but from what I remember it was not a contradiction rather it was talking about the brother.

  • @AlanMolstad

Rather than arguing from memory, Alan,

why don't you wait till you get home and look it up?

or better yet, go to biblegateway (dot)com !

  • @Imaginefree69 2 samuel 21 Doesn't say this. And neither does 1 samuel 17 say this. Goliath was only killed one time. 1 samuel talks about david bringing his brothers some water and food. 2 samuel talks about some guys looking for another guy. Goliath wasn't mentioned. Read these verses again.

  • @sika1414 In 1 Samuel 17 David kills Goliath, "And the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam" (verse 7) In 2 Samuel 21:19 "Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew [the brother of] Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam." If you are using the KJV please notice that the words "the brother of" are ITALICIZED. This means that they do NOT appear in the original, but were added by the KJV editors. Ask your pastor, he'll tell you the same.
