@davintheraven Then why does he look like Cody in the intro? A lot of characters from SF1 were later redesigned for appearance in SFA. SFA Cody's fighting stance (or standing look) is nearly identical to Joe's. Joe's quote "Okay baby!" and Cody's quote "okAAAY!" are similar.

@1983parrothead Probably just Capcom making a reference to their own characters. Again, it's like how Zangief has the same pile driver and spinning punch that Haggar has and how Mega Man X can do the Hadouken and Shouryuken in the Mega Man X games and how Gunloc from Saturday Night Slam Masters has a Sonic Boom move. Good observation about the connection.
