  • heavy, and good, as fuck... Good that I'm getting the album soon!!

  • Brutal as fuck! This slaughters Hot Topic kids and eats them for breakfast!

  • Death metal destroys. Deathcore destroys. Both have their share of shitty bands, and both have their share of bands that deliver fist. JUST LISTEN AND BANG YOUR FUCKING HEAD!

  • @TokeyToke420xD nah brother, deathcore blows

  • @SkygroundQ Amen to this. I laughed at his pathetic attempt to unite the two :) But awesome that he listens to this band I guess lol....

  • have this album on vinyl. I got to see them live a couple of times. just awesome. thanks for posting.

  • that slam is so fucking heavy, and one of the first in death metal. all hail suffocation

  • ....i farted.

    SUFFOCATION \m/

  • Every time I listen to suffocation on the bus black people stare at me like im listening to noise... if only they knew.

  • 23 PEOPLE NEED THEIR SKINNY ASSES BASHED IN THE PIT

  • @ahsanxr 23 fat people disliked this because the video didn't contain sandwiches.

  • Dat breakdown !! So good !! Scene kids should take notes...

  • Ultimate germanic great ancient migrations drum powered gutnumbing power

  • effigy of the forgotten has a 666 in the adress bar for the metal archives entry \m/

  • That fucking breakdown! I love it

  • Fucking real Brutal Deat Metal,No Deathcore shit.Deathcore sucks stick with that

  • A new race I will now create,

As I end their pitiful lives.

    My destiny has only begun,

    To torture future minds.

  • 2:53 BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTAAAALLLLL

  • First ever slam riff at 2:56. This starts the awesome sounds of slam. Behead those who insult slam!

  • @AnalLuxury eh, i don't know about that. metallica had a slight breakdown in for whom the bell tolls in 1984...7 years before this album ever existed. not to mention domination by pantera in 1990. sorry for mentioning such mainstream bands, but they had breakdowns way before suffocation. not sure what a "slam riff" even is, but when i was a teenager growing up on metal and hardcore, they were called breakdowns.

  • This song is was way to advance for it's release date and many "modern" tracks cannot match it at all. Even till now most people do not realise its impact in terms of technicality as well as aggression.

  • This song was way to advance for it's release. Even till now most people do not realise its impact in terms of technicality as well as aggression.

  • why cant some understand the tecknicality of SUFFOCATION there one of the tightest band in the world i remember buing effigy back in 91 it was the sickest music i ever heard and still is Ted LACRIMOSA 666

  • Suffocation! Death metal gods and originators of the death metal breakdown. The slam by which all other slams are measured. And they can still take these youngsters to school!

  • Why do i keep on seeing faggots on suffocation videos?

    -.-

  • that riff at 0:30 is always fucking killer!

  • Anyone who thinks this is not old school death metal needs a history lesson or two. This kind of brutality coming out in 1991 was immensely influential on countless bands, such as Gorguts, Baphomet, ... If massively influencing albums that came out in 1992-93 already is not old school, I don't know what is.

  • I remember seeing bands like this regularly way back when. At one point we had at least 2 shows a month in South Florida.

  • Deathcore this, Deathcore that. You want it to go away so fucking bad? STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. The more you bring it up, the more recognition it gets.

    >>Hint Hint<<

  • @CerebrumTranceStep What's wrong with DC?

  • @TheMetalhead804 Its shit thats whats wrong with it.

  • @metalhead158622 Why though?

  • @TheMetalhead804 very generic, no diversity, every band and song sounds the same, plus adding to that all the dumb fans out there who claim deathcore bands are the best and call themselves true fans without knowing a damn thing about real metal. No offense to you because I do not know you im simply speaking out of my own experiences with people.

  • @metalhead158622 Lol it's kwl man I'm not a deathcore fan it's not my main genera. I'm a death metal fan (slowly liking lack metal a bit more now) who liked deathcore. The guitar i'll admit sounds generic especially with Whitechapel. If someone thinks DC is the best it's just their opinion. If you listen to underground DC like fit for an autopsy listen to the song "the conqueror" and another band called one more victim. Those bands don't so as generic and I think more DM will like DC if they

  • @TheMetalhead804 You know who's generic...? Suicide Silence.

You know who's worse...? Emmure. And THAT'S what's wrong with Deathcore. Job For A Cowboy is forgotten and gone, andnow we have "DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT." God--they don't even switch up the drums anymore...

  • @AngelicDissonance I only thumbed up your comment cause the DJENT-DJENT thing made me lmao. I listen to those bands -_-

  • @animanga63 To each their own, mang. I can't judge your perceptions--only what my own perceptions tell me.

We all have our own world--it just happens to sometimes overlap others.

  • @metalhead158622 Give these bands a try.

  • @TheMetalhead804 I will give them a try but no promises

  • @TheMetalhead804 let them listen to music of their own.. btw this band is good... me gusta

  • @TheMetalhead804 You have people who try to be as "brutal" as possible. So what do they do? take out everything interesting about music: solos, bridges, interesting riffs, and replace it with chug fest songs because they cannot solo. They then buy 7 or 8 string guitars, drop them 3 octaves, and dont even use the extra strings that they paid for. while death metal bands manage to be more talented WHILE being wayyy more "brutal" than dc ever could be. it is the most generic genre ever

  • @CerebrumTranceStep I've been saying the same thing about that girl that's appearantly a boy and makes stupid songs. People just don't seem to get it...

  • @CerebrumTranceStep Ironically, in order to tell people to stop bringing up deathcore, you had to bring up deathcore.

  • @FieldsOfSorrow87 Irony is a strange magic. But what I said is the truth. The more people talk about how much they hate it, the more people start talking about it in general.

  • This should properly educate shitty Deathcore bands on a proper breakdown! 20 years ago mother fuckers!!

  • I LOVE THIS SHIT!

  • WHat the hell is that ?!!!

  • Nothing beats old school DM.New shit sucks... needlessly technical mainstream garbage.

  • @HeyYoKillEmo This is tech death dumbfuck.

  • @FirePower3006 Kid, shut your dumbass mouth.

  • @FirePower3006 It's good... that a good enough label for you? I like some tracks that are called Tech Death, Brutal Technical Death Metal, Old School Death Metal, Blackened Death Metal heck even the odd Deathcore track not to mention countless other genres, subgenres, sub-subgenres and the more we pigeonhole it the more we segregate the community which will eventually kill it completely. I'm waiting for an awesome Technically Deathened Black Metalcore release...

  • @ramfeild66 Ur an idiot also? this is technical death metal ok? I dont give a flying fuck what you listen to. The guy was saying this was old school when its not.

  • @FirePower3006 You know what. It's death metal. Who the fuck cares what you label it, self important little pigeonholling pricks like yourself. Listen to what you like, I could care less what you want to label it. The album was released in '91. In those terms it is old school. Then again back then death metal was just death fucking metal, and I'd know so don't call me an idiot, boy.

  • @ramfeild66 Thats not the point, I LOVE old school death metal, but calling the band who basically started technical death metal is stupid. Do you want me to call bring me the horizon death metal?

  • @ramfeild66 Technical death metal should NEVER have ANYTHING to do with metalcore.

  • @ramfeild66 My buddies band plays a lot of post-apocalyptic acidjazz funkcore. It's pretty cutting edge bro, We're just waiting for the right time to hit the world with it, you know? ;)

  • @sploogefest14 A slam is a riff that maintains tempo, bro. Breakdowns actually slow down.

  • The good ole' days of brutality without mainstream!

  • i heared something like this is the first "slam" song ever :s

  • Best Brutal Death Metal album EVER!!!!!! \o/

  • Best Brutal Death Metal album EVER!!!!!! \o/

  • Mike Smith is a god.

  • Ahaha I can't believe so many brutal death bands all around copied these breakdown styles. :PP Never gets old though.

  • check the song "double barrel penetration" from kraanium at 0:30 its the same like here from 2:50

  • wow Frank Mullen sounds like John Gallagher from Dying Fetus

  • @TheHydropsfetalis

Basically jonh Gallagher sounds like Frank Mullen . ;)

Suffocation is the masters of brutallity since 1990 (Reincremated demo)

  • @TheHydropsfetalis on this album he does but in later albums when his voice is more crisp and clear he doesn't really

  • @TheHydropsfetalis other way around sir

  • Ted from LACRIMOSA thak you for leting me post the song killing spree we youse to be a full band from mass. i moved to FL. now its just me and my drum machene no one can play drums like that oround here check out some more music production is not that good i just have an 8track . i hope you dig it LACRIMOSA is the name we used sinse the 90s.by the way SUFFOCATION is the sickest band in the universe Liege of iveracity is faorite metal song of all time thanks again hang loose

  • @InfernalDivide1 If it helps you sleep at night.

  • @InfernalDivide1 It's called "slamming", broski.

  • **pig growls* Arrrrrrgggggghh!!! *gurgles unrecognisingly**

  • Breakdown done properly.

  • This song makes me mosh to my MP3 player when I am walking around down town

  • There was no precedent for this in 1991. This is brutal even by today's standards (thanks in large part to Frank Mullen's inhuman vocals).

  • i love that little orange hedgehog on the album cover

  • \m/ breakdowns in this video

  • Wow this track held the title of "HEAVIEST SONG IN THE WORLD"For like ever!!!

  • ok who are the fuckfaces disliking suffocation. they are the standard in american death metal. mike smith is a fuckin beast. hobbs is the shit and frank mullen is the fucken man. 2 dislikes you two get killed.

  • God-damn, those guitar solos are killer.

  • If only today's band had this kind of production instead of the overpolished and trigger based production...

  • @repoman182 no re-mastered version as far as i know. personally, i like the production. the closest you'll get to a modern studio recording of this song will be a cover. Down From The Wound did a pretty decent cover

  • Scott burns the producer of alot of death metal bands said when doing this record that this was the heaviest shit he ever produced

  • This is my favorite Suffocation album BY FAR. The self-titled is good too, as it returned to this NYHC sound of which they were one of the progenitors. This is one of the most important albums in death metal, and it's OK if you don't like it - but, if you're a fan of the genre, you really should know OF it, at least. ;cD

    METAL, you young fuckers! ;c]

  • @Eternityflows LOL! Quan Chi, Kratos and Cyborg Sub-Zero are the only character outside of the first 3 games rosters. But I'm cool with them not having Moloch.

  • @Eternityflows LOL! I've listened through Pierced front to back 3 or 4 times. If I had not listened to it I wouldn't of said anything of it. I would just of said: This is a really damn good album, can't wait to look into more Suffocation material. I LOVE PIERCED! I never said I didn't. I said I like this album much better. My opinion isn't crazy regarding me liking this album over Pierced, it's just an opinion you don't like.

  • @Eternityflows So I'm crazy for having an opinion :(

  • The first 4 notes sound like the first 4 notes of Incantation "Golgotha"...but more SUFFOCATING.

  • god theres like 10 fucking badass rifss in this song! thank you suffocation, thank you

  • Fuck yeah.

  • right on, it's these new 5.1 sound systems.. i can never get my old albums to sound right on them.. but i dusted off my old boom box and it sounded awesome.. really took me back. specially that breakdown at 2:50.. the speed shift feels like taking a dip in a low riding camaro at 90 miles per hour.. scary as shit but worth every nanosecond.

  • Hey if you guys like real Death metal like Suffocation and Obituary check my band ill be posting some videos up soon were coming out with an album to

  • Fucking sick band

  • I FUCKIN LOVE THIS SONG!!! i would give ANYTHING to hear a modern re-record of this track! did they ever do a remastered album or is there a decent live version of this song?

  • @repoman182 i thought the same thing and idk the one on close of a chapter might be better...but you get used to it, i like the sound of it now :)

  • I FUCKIN LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • SCOTT BURNS...... amazing producer

  • who gives a fuck about the production, this is epic.

  • 2:59 hahah i always laugh when i hear this part :D

  • @IMBACHABRI what's funny about it haha

  • Is it me or are the lyrics misprinted???

  • NO 1 BREAK DOWN EVER!!!!

  • I love Suffocation's new material, but, like everyother band on the planet, their original material can't really be topped.

  • classic brutal death

  • My fav Suffocation album by FAR. Pierced is seminal for others, but for me,the lack of much speed picking took it down. Pierced is overall a much more technically accomplished album, but I can do without such technicality for ultimate brutality. That just my opinion.

  • Amazing drumming bro...

  • @mkmoloch For me it isn't about the speed or the brutality. It's about the song writing, and Pierced From Within is the only album I've ever heard that literally doesn't have a single bad or even mediocre riff on it. I didn't even think that was possible but Suffo achieved it.

  • @unconditionalmalice In think that too. In my opinion, Effigy of The Forgotten would make a better album if was made a remastered version.Do you know what i mean ?! The original production is real fucking

bad.Pierced from Within has an aweasome production with good riffs, solos and better vocals.Pierced from Within FTW ! Human Waste FTW too!

  • @MagnumBullets47 Yeah I know what you mean. But I thought it was just me because nobody ever seems to mention the production on Effigy. But at the same time Breeding The Spawn has terrible production, but it doesn't seem to bother me that much.

  • @unconditionalmalice "Breeding The Spawn has terrible production, but it doesn't seem to bother me that much." - haha, you said everything dude.Even in that way, "Eaten back to life"of Cannibal Corpse was released in 1990.One year before Effigy of The Forgotten and it still have a better production than Suffocation´s album!

  • @mkmoloch Ride the groove.i agree!

  • @mkmoloch Ride the groove.i agree!Behold the prince of the liar king!!!!

  • @mkmoloch Technicality is always better than brutality in my opinion.

  • First time listening in a while and I feel rather hooked now.

  • woah, heard that breakdown before. A Chinese band called Cut at Waist used it intensively in one of their songs.

  • @cbrav0 wow those assholes ahha stole suffocation shit!

  • @cbrav0 In cased you didn't know, there is an entire genre based off of breakdowns in brutal death metal. It's called slam...so a lot of bands use it

  • @KiLLaKRaBz Yup, I know, devourment and such. Many breakdowns sound alike, but are not the same. The one I'm referring to in Cut at Waist's song is an exact copy of this one lol

Perhaps it's just a coincidence, I don't know. Anyway, here it is: watch?v=3Eg7MD0XeKc

  • @cbrav0 Yeah there's also a band called Kraanium that uses a very similar sounding one if not the same..

  • @cbrav0 I think devourment was very creative in their slam sections, after that the slam death metal genre got stale, actually devourment created it, and were so amazing that everything afterwards was really generic and boring.

  • this breakdown gets stuck in my head for years

  • This is the most brutal song ever fucking made!

  • best song of suffocation ever haha

    ear piercing material

  • fuck yaa

  • best album of suffocation everrrrrr

  • God damn this album is awesome.

  • THIS SONG IS FUCKING AMAZING\M/ CLASSIC DM I LOVE IT
