the only probem with this wep is that 90% of all Machina user never aims for the head, since you can instant kill most classes with a fully charged body shot instead. similiar with bazaar bargain, it encourages users to always aim for the head at all costs. thats why the regular sniper rifle is arguably the best of all the rifles, due to its balanced stats.

i just hate body shotter with this fucking thing. no way should a scout be able to hit me for 12 damage at long range and a fully chargerd body shot cleans me up when im a soldier. "It gives away your position" so does the little red/blue dot. im still rocket jumping your way.

I just hate ppl who sit back and body shot for the 190+ fully charged shot with this gun. thats more damage than a quickscope headshot with the reg sniper rifle. @07rensza Its 151 actually. Thats 1 more point of damage than a quickscope headshot. Still, you're right that a ton of people just bodyshot with this weapon, and then it gets annoying.

I was playing a match on viaduct, and my comrades around me were falling to the heavy/medic team that was standing on the point, they were about to cap it for the win (both teams were in overtime). Now, I could have continued to hide around the corner like any sniper at below 50 health would do, but instead, I told myself: nobody on my team can handle this other than me. In my opinion, the regular sniper rifle is still the best. What I HATE about the Machina is that it tells the enemy (sometime 4,5 people at once) where you are, and they all start either coming for you, or the soldiers start throwing rockets at you even when you shoot someone else. Instead, with the sniper rifle, only the person who dies by your shot can eventually see where you are hiding, while others still don't have a clue. Regular sniper rifle FTW.

Not always. I usually see a trend in people who try to kill the one who kills the most. Also , being able to ramp up to 500 dmg pin point accurate, makes you a dessirable target for the enemy.

I like the Machina, it's pretty cool. And really, I use the beam for distractions (I tend to move around tactically and I can draw enemies ((Especially Spies) to areas with it.) But, I don't like the fact that you can't shoot up close because I am fond of Jarate and also the Razorback when I'm on a map that you can't switch positions fast, so I am forced to use an smg or be very careful. I don't like melee combat as sniper, he's just a scout except slower.

@livingeasi I'm a casual player and I learned that the machina is actually a excelent and my most favourite sniper rifle , but you need to know where to use it what moments and so on , plus you need to have a good aim as well , people comming after you might not be that big of a problem , in some cases you can sit in the range of a sentry and bait them in :D

Whenever I'm playing a Balloon Race I make sure to have the Machina equipped. Since you're in boats the tracer-effect doesn't matter anyway, and a single sniper dropping about half the people on a boat (which they can tell by all the smoke trails leading to one location) is very demoralizing for the guys on board. Even then when they're all chasing me, that's all the less people piloting the boats.

quick tip if you are using this weapon.

Don't use this weapon if you: are good at headshots, shoot a lot of times, you are a camper or you are playing with nerds... i mean, people that is very focused and can hear even a C&D form the other point of the map.

Use if you: move around the map, horrible with headshots, you have to constanly deal with bear-mother engineers
