revisiting this song was a hopelessly dreadful affair by the sound of things. deliberated disinterest is the effect here. perhaps the cafe menu offered better choicer cuts...
Do you know I sometimes can't get on with this song....and sometimes don't want to listen to anything else. I do love it when Robin visits these old songswith his guitar. His performance here is particularly wonderful-the venue is so small that it's a real treat to see your heroes singing in such intimate surroundings. He's such a generous and warm-hearted fellow too....which helps.
Well as I've said before, time spent listening to Robin is never wasted so I'm going to do the same and go and listen to Myrrh right now-good suggestion.
I remember playing Myrrh over and over when it first came out. This is one of my favourite songs, and this is a magnificent performance!
For my money, nobody is better on guitar than Robin. Some of his contemporaries may be more technically proficient, but for sheer originality and ability to communicate deep emotion, nobody touches him IMO.
Totally agree with what you say about Robin Williamson. And this is an incredible performance of a great song! I keep humming it to myself throughout day!
Just like David Gilmour, Robin Williamson had the most beautiful face when he was young. Just like DG age has not served his looks too well but the genius voice and songs are still there. Thanks for posting this. Queen of Love is his best song I think.
Well your man Robin knows many things but I don't think he can turn back the tide. I have sometimes thought that his harp is magical and thus maybe anything is possible.
QoL is a tremendous song- a lovely arrangement too. His "Songs for Children" contains some marvellous arrangements too....
Oh yes indeedy. Actually, I was going to say that he only needs a beard to complete his seamless transformation from mere mortal to ancient Bard....but I noticed he has a beard. Someone tells me he's had a beard for years in fact....

Still got my original Myrrh on 12" vinyl which Robin signed 'with love - Robin'
The beauty of this song still tugs at my old heart .

Today I've listened Mirrh again. The Beauty lives in it. Pure beauty.

....reminds me on The Incredible String Band or The Inedible String Vest as we call 'em. Great stuff.

Thanks- he doesn't play his guitar enough lately IMHO- and when he does, it's a wonder to behold....

He hasn't played guitar much recently because of a shoulder ailment. He has had difficulty in raising his arm.
