  • SO CUTE LOVE THEM

  • my friend says his quail jumps and hits it head on its cage and it almost willed its self is that normal.

  • When animals like that run back and forth and do repetetive things it tends to mean their bored or distressed

  • Sugar has had a little too much sugar. Cute birds :)

  • LOL- I put my button anywhere lower than 2.5 feet and she immediately jumps out :) My Coturnix has decided that calling all night is the thing to do now that I seperated him and button quail. Thankfully he's not annoying like having a rooster in the house! :)

  • crow noises lol we think they sound like little hawks ... it takes me back when my little male starts to call ... hehe i never hear him .. then somewhere in the house is a hawk and all my other birds run for cover it is so funny to see .. since they are in complete different rooms ..i keep my buttons in a pen about 4 feet long and two feet wide ... it is a low pen but that's ok they stay in ...

  • No, actually they don't have a smell at all unless I hold them right up to my face and then it's kind of a musky/wild/outdoor smell but not unpleasant if it's just a few and not overcrowded and cleaned regularly :) T

  • don't they smell sorta bad?

  • Congrats on your new Coturnix chicks! I've just discovered my "Happy" is a boy as he's been making little funny crow type noises :) I get such a kick out of them :)

  • That button quail is hilarious! I have two Coturnix chicks. :)

  • They are adorable! I hatched out 6 buttons so far. They are so cute and tiny

  • Hi! The little button quails tend to be very active and not content to sit in your hands but are very busy little birds. Raised from chicks they can be very sweet. The Coturnix tend to be laid back in general and in my opinion tend to be the better pet :) My cage is 3 wide x 4 ft lont and 4 ft high. I feed mine parakeet seed and chick starter. They tend to be very clean. They don't tend to peck but would run away if frightened. A Coturnix would make an easy care pet. :)

  • I saw these at the Gardens a few days ago and wanted one dearly, but wasn't sure if they were good pets or not.

Would you mind helping me out? Just on the size cage, how often to let them out, what to feed them.. umm.. if they bite often or if they're fairly friendly.. just that sort of thing?
