IT's cause he went from the awesomeness that is ADTI to a generic emo band. And his lyrics were always pretty generic(look at Hourglass).

Unfortunately, in ADTI he only sang backup(which he was very good at.) and played rhythm guitar from In/Casino/Out onward(their first album I think he played the small amount of lead guitar there was) so his guitar style wasn't as unique.

Overall he was just the least unique member of the band.

I wouldn't call Sparta generic emo, go back and listen to ALL of porceline from start to finish...Splinters rocks as hard as ATDI,and Omar was never an original member,and muscled his way in from playing bass...bonding over heroin abuse with cedric, really really cool eh? But Jim Ward always came across as a much nicer guy than Omar...imo
