The dude with the glasses has the form of a retarded seal. The black guy and the dude fighting him dont even have freaking balance when they kick. Shit ive seen 13 year olds do better. Very hard to judge, here we've got seniors men and women, juniors girls and boys, for each category there's a different shape of fighting: Fighting as a senior as i've been told is keeping all in the economy, the accurancy first, you won't see stamina burst very often but controled gyakus and tsukis...As i fought as a junior i remember (me and my fellows opponents)pulling much more energy than the youngsters i see on this video.

You can't fucking score with a jab or a "flicking" kick like I've seen here where I practice karate. This isn't the self defense portion of karate, this is points division and "sport" karate.
They have no hip rotation and are not deep enough in their stances to make their techniques look like they would do damage, should they be applied with the intent to hurt.
When you do kumite, you aren't worried about your form so much as to make sure you are using alot of hip movement. It's about striking your opponent. These were very good examples of Karate spars.
There's a little bit of room for improvement there needs to be some form in the technique,otherwise it degenerates into kick-boxing and no-one wants that right?

it has nothing to do with them being japs, its the way they train. American has some karateka that are as good as those in japan. Its how you train, not who you are.
im only a beginer but i can deal some hard blows just by also moving my hips when I put my weight and speed into a punch... this is what happens when you lear karaty at the ymca
go to a REAL dojo and learn Karate or like me aikido
That looks very nice, of course everyone in the vid has it's own level of skill, but what I find nice is that it is kumité in a traditional way. Not rushing at each other, just controlled attacks and respect for each other :)
I prefer the kenka karate or fighting karate.....um not so good showing here....
