  • How could Hawai'i become a state if it was illegally occupied by the United States?? Huh? Answer me America!!!!!!!

  • You cannot honor genocide, lies, theft, breaking of treaties and the occupation of a peaceful nation. America is the kid with his hand in the cookie jar and chocolate chips on his lips and still insists that he never ate the cookies. The only ones to back him are the ones that shared in the immoral behavior.

  • why did they need a helicopter?

  • I am not sure as I was 4 yrs old at the time my mother filmed this. I think documents were delivered- no faxes then. Maybe someone who sees this can share more information. Helicopter was probably fastest way to the capital from a ship-- still guessing though.

  • kfgblifghkfdhg

  • I lived in Pearl City over in Ohau back in 2001-2002 and it was very beautiful over there. and when i was like in the 2nd grade i was doing hula lessons when living there.

  • TNX FOR MAUI WOWIE

  • so thisis epic footage of how white people took over the island? and made it into a state? AWESOME!

  • Yes, this is actual footage of the US annexation of Hawaii in 1898, when Queen Liliuokalani handed over the keys to the palace to Admiral James T. Whitepeople.

  • lolololololol

  • I think it's a dream for most Americans to make it to this state at least once.... man i really want to go and sit on the beach!

  • very beautiful over there if you had the chance to live there you might love it.

  • or so they have you believe, dum dum dum!

  • awesome vid! mahalo!

  • wow that's really cool . :D

  • The most beautiful part of Hawaii are the people.

    Aloha

  • It's rumored that Obama was born in Hawaii.

  • Uhh, that's a fact, he WAS born in Hawaii.

  • I wish I can go to Hawaii before I die. It's such a beautiful place. Even if I never go there, I love Hawaii.

  • you can go to hawaii before you die. just decide and them make it happen!

  • Wow this is amazing. Those little girls are like in their 50s/60s. That is seriously so cool

  • My sister and I were 4 and 5 years old when my mom made this home movie so we are now 54 and 55.

  • Beyond amazing. To think that one day im going to be that age too. How were those 50 years for you?

  • The Hula dancing is too cute. Luv it.

It is always beautiful as long as you dance from the heart.

  • people in hawaii dont want to be part of the US.

  • We can, but only up to 50......

so next year we're in trouble. (^V^)

  • Hawaii was really the first state to make active volcanoes cool.

  • that was so funny i really cant believe you guys did that and have de guts to put that stuff out here for the public to see gotta give u props.

  • what they had no telephones in 1959 LoL

  • it's Hawaii. I grew up there. grantee you that its Hawaii.

even though I don't aprove of Hawaii becoming a state. Read up on the "Bayonet Constitution". lame

  • copied my video

  • PEDOBEAR LIKES

  • hate to say it but...it looks more like an old35mm home video of some helicopter landin in atlanta georgia or some place like that. btw those hula girl outfits could be purchased at most costume shops throughout the US. so the chances this being really in hawaii...pretty slim imo. In anycase its great day to celebrate the much deserved 50th b-day of hawaii a very beautiful and culturally rich state.

  • i guess you don't see the king Kamehameha statue in the background....

  • yep didn't see that so guess its real.

  • Your comments gave me a laugh. It is a video made from an old 35 home movie my mom took. I sent all our old movies in to a company I found on line and had them put on DVD. Nothing is fake about it.

  • i said it looked like it was fake. its not that good of quality film, there was no audio with it which is typical of something of this age and technology. other half of things is the buildings are asimilar to those found in georgia and other places. again most of the hula outfits were easily obtained as hawaii was quite the popular destination when pplz really started to discover it more through friends/family who vacationed there. i've been and love it there.

  • Why would they stage it? If people did go to this much trouble to recreate it, then that calls for even more celebration hehe

  • i had made the comment as there was little to see that really proved it was hawaii, there are palm trees and other such plants in both california, georgia, and other southern states that have similar flora, building styles as the one in the film. it could have been filmed as like the gov. or a sen. visiting for a special day or something. anywho someone already pointed out king kamehameha statue which is kinda hard to see in this film. again i said it looked kinda like it was not really hawaii.

  • so you would be more convinced if the governor's mansion was a grass hut?

I don't think you ever have been to Hawaii and further more what is the point of your multiple comments showing your lack of knowledge? Can't you find anyone to talk to honey?

  • Oh thanks for clarifying. :)

  • The helicopter appears to land in the courtyard of Iolani Palace (which still stands there today).

  • Why, isn't it Mr. Buzzkillington.

  • u don't like atheists but we love you anyways. lol ;) always good for a laugh or two.

  • we believe in your volcanos!

  • And Atheists don't like you

  • It's not the 50th until August 21

  • which state is this?

  • spain

  • thank u :)

  • Cool
