I've watched the Giants games since 08 when Timmy won his first cy young. At that time, he had a very good fast ball. Hovering around 95-97 mph.
One of his fist few games, he was throwing extremely hard around 98 or 99. Trying to impress his coaches, he toned it down and got some real good control.
After winning the 08 and 09 cy young, his 10 season dropped in velocity. His fast ball would occasionally touch 96.
Yet, he still was MLB's stikeout king, he ended up leading the Giants to the WS.
I tried to be more explosive and rotate my hips and shoulders better....it doesnt feel like I throw any harder but my arm feels better when I throw...I hope its working
Absolutely amazing video analysis, every coach in the nation from pee wee to pro should watch this video, It proves that arm strength has nothing to do with velocity, it shows that getting max stride, hip rotation, arm rotation, and speed of movement to the plate will help you attain the fastest velocity you can achieve while REDUCING CHANCES OF INJURY.
Great video!!!!!!, good to see that this proves you do not have to go to the weight room to throw the ball faster,, now please send to all coaches not preaching this. Dick Mills talks about the same thing, Stride, trunk rotation, forward motion all translates to the highest velocity you can achieve without increased risk in injury!!
That was awesome! im glad to see some science behind what ive been arguing against with all the little league dads who want to change my boy's mechanics.

I like Tim because he can throw harder than a lot of pitchers out there who are ripped and he's a scrawny dude. hes really good
