  • The USA scares the shit out of me now

  • he is right basically two realities their is the Powerful and ultra rich, then everyone else...

  • " I cannot wait to see the rebulican debates in 2012 " rofl, here we are in late 2011 and they're already hilariously sad.

  • only 1 reality with multiple opinions

  • Mschocolalicious please name any artifacts proving the existence of Jesus

  • @Masterdebater747 it is not only because of obama is black. obama is not one of this crazy "jesus-america-bla-bla" assholes. that is the only reason.

republiCUNTS could live with condoleezza rice

  • Belief is a powerful thing....I guarantee, what ever you believe to be true is true! When you change your beliefs, you change your reality!

  • @Masterdebater747

AWESOME and most articulate stated comment. Good job Masterdebater. Id buy you a beer if I knew you! Keep it up!

  • Bill,

    Thanks...

    Your friend

  • "ONLY PERSON THAT MISSED YOU IS THE GUY WHO THREW THAT SHOE" LOL.

  • My whole hearted endorsement for all 3 of 3 parts of this video. Don't miss 'em.

  • Thomas Paine was a Founding Father and a Revolutionist; A man who should be respected throughout history.

Not misunderstood and / or ostracized as he was at his funeral in 1809 as a clear sign of disrespect. Any Tea Party member or republican, over zealously-religious person who graciously holds a single one of his pamphlets ought to be slapped in the face for doing such a dishonor to this historically political man ... who works for the people!

  • I agree with everything Bill says except when he said conservatives cannot stand a black president. Conservatives have always played the black card against Obama, but I for one do not believe mainstream conservatives in the 21st century are racist.

  • @sng1867 The thing with racism is that more often than not it's subtle. Just by treating a black person differently from a white person, even if you're being apologetic or some other nonsense, you're being racist. A person who isn't racist doesn't even factor it in through his thought process: "He's a doctor" instead of "He's a black doctor".

  • Its probably some mexican guy saving at Citibank

  • The Tea Partiers are corporate tools. They'll "take back our country" only to hand it over to the corporation who will put the tax burden squarely on all of us, including them.

  • @LittleRedMenace

    yeah.

  • Uh Thomas Paine was a deist not an Atheist. There is a difference there.

  • Reality has a liberal bias.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer could you define liberal bias?

  • @UrbanFury12

    "could you define liberal bias?"

Reality simply doesn't function as the conservatives want it to work. It's much more nuanced, which fits the liberal view of viewing the world much better.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer That was a damn good answer. ;)

  • LOL Larry king doesn't even listen to the answers... he just waits for comedy and when Mahr throws the GEM of them WANTING a war with islam larry just asks his next written down question.

  • '...so your telling me, the only (person/administration) (who/that) misused (his/its) power was the (iraqi guy/government of the united states of america) (who/because) (threw the shoe at an occupier?/it occupied another country?) , (thats absurd/thats unacceptable)'

  • theres a big difference.

  • i love bill so much..

  • This analysis is BRILLIANT and in-depth..... The way he explain the conservative mind set struck me as the conclusion I was eventually going to come to having been studying the American conservative mind recently...... Everythign I have seen points at Mahrs analysis on it to be true

  • You know, they are laughing at this, cause so many of us are American commercialized, but it really is sad and wrong...

  • Bill is so dead on right...Republicans are such hypocritical racists!

  • How many breaks do they have on this show?!

  • larry and bill maher are hilarious together, you can tell they're old friends, probly blaze kush together before the show

  • who is the girl at 03:05 what's her name?

  • The theological ideals that the Tea Party is pushing, along with doing everything they can (including lying) to demonize anything else, is just like the methods used to create the weimar republic. If your not a christian subscribing to his ideology, your one of the "They" he and his ilk always refer to. The man is a chronic lier who hides his wealth so that he can keep screwing the people he claims to stand up for, out of their hard earned cash. His greed is outrageous.

  • @KozmoJ68 Correction: Those were the methods used to *destroy* the Weimar republic. The Weimar republic was created out of revolutionary acts (driven by the left) carried by a war weary (WWI) population, fed up with the old fossils in charge of the current government (actually a monarchy).

  • @TomFynn Ah... thank you for the correction. My intended definition was to be the republic that Hitler wanted. The third Reich would be a better description of the situation. The 3rd Reich had very little to do with the actual Weimar Republic and the philosophy it was about. The Reich was a farce, horribly much like right is today.

  • Two separate realities is a terrifying framework because rather than a reasonable political debate, it brings us closer to the conflict between science versus religion, - and facts don't go down so well in that one because people just believe things because they know it to be true.

  • maybe humans deserve to be nuked and extinct, we all have it coming.

  • It's always funny how religion becomes a catalyst, or, probably more appropriately, a pretext for going to war, and not just the "crazy Muslims" either. Hell, Bush called his campaign a "crusade." What does that tell you? And it's always the case. Always. Look back at the Inquisition. Look back to the Italian Renaissance. Politics and religion go hand in hand. A politician who came out and said he was atheist or even agnostic would never get elected in the country to ANY office. Ever. Sad.

  • Central America. Now it's in the Middle East. We're fighting for resources. Always have been. It's what Chomsky calls our "fifth freedom." And you know what's scary? Years from now, later generations are probably going to be PRAISING Bush.

  • @billbenblue I think you're giving Bush too much credit. More probably, he was just saving some face by saying that history will be his judge, not the current public opinion. And we have to hope that the governments get their heads out of their ass and start listening to scientists so that maybe we can find a viable alternative energy source in the next decade. That way we can remember how bad Bush was forever.

  • (continued . .) for the precious leftovers? The two biggest consumers of fossil fuels: us, and the Chinese. Oil is the blood of the economy, ladies and gentlemen, and in the not too distant future, we're going to go toe to toe with the Chinese. AND WE'RE PROBABLY GOING TO LOSE. Now, I'm not supporting Bush per se . . . but in way, his presidency was fighting for our liberty: our liberty to exploit and steal. It's the hallmark of American ethics. Started with the Phillipines and then (continued)

  • "War on terroism" is a more colorful way to say "global expansion". After all, we don't want to come of as imperialists, now do we?? Anyway, this is what Bush was alluding to when he left office and responded to all the negative polls and whatnot by saying his presidency would be judged by history. Think about it: we're on the fringe of a global economic crisis (yes, GLOBAL) because we're running low on resources. Our fossil fuels are running thin. Guess who's going to be competing (continued..)

  • finally someone calls out Glenn Beck on Thomas Paine... Paine called christianity a "heathen religion" and a remake of the old mythologies

  • Palin 2012 is our Quetzalcoatl!

  • @SuperCreamface says the guy named creamface

  • "Sarah Palin never talks to the press"...for me that line struck me as scary, as in really scary, not only because it's true NOW, but because looking forward as to what kind of devoted following she'd have to develop (without the press) in order to win the presidency...the things she'd have to say and not be held accountable for...scary stuff.

  • Heart disease kills over 500,000 people each year. Where is the War on Burger King?

  • Lies, jesus saves at bank of america

  • @fantasticHorus No, Citibank. And you can't prove he doesn't.

  • @JesusSavesAtCitibank yea cant prove it therefore its true LOL

  • @SuCKeRPunCH187 The god believer is fond of saying atheists can't prove god doesn't exist. Though to try to "disprove" the existence of anything is an illogical exercise, they erroneously think it somehow lends support to the existence of their god regardless of the fact they have not a shred of evidence to prove god does exist. My comment was intended to be a jocular mocking of this commonly appearing fallacy of theirs.

  • @JesusSavesAtCitibank i know what you meant, i just wanted to state that common misconception of not disproving something therefore its true.

  • @SuCKeRPunCH187 As your comment was rather ambiguous, I just wanted to clarify my statement for anyone who may not understand from whence it came. Thank you.

  • @JesusSavesAtCitibank

    I love your username

    Never stop

  • @JesusSavesAtCitibank Why are you guys on youtube? Get a career in writing. =)

  • @JesusSavesAtCitibank

i'm a believer bvut i hate how the religious right frowns upon atheists (ones that are at least half way respectful of otheer views). atheists are firemen, cops, teachers, soldiers, and heroes too. the wway i see it is live a good and honest life as ojne possibly can and in the end we'll see what happens. you do your thing, we'll do ours, just don't hurt anyone on the way. thats what i say about religion and such.

  • @TeslaDRay you seem like a lovely person. it gives me hope when i see christians(/etc) like you. yay tolerance!

  • @JesusSavesAtCitibank. Atheist is unable to prove God does not exist because He does. Our proof God exist is artifacts that have been found proving the existence of Jesus who did miraculous acts that were seen by men and women who gave account of eye witness events. Now because you are too ignorant to comprehend truth when you hear it or read it is between you and your genetic makeup passed down to you by your probably even more ignorant parents. By the way Jesus is Lord to the Glory of God.

  • @Mschocolalicious Prove it, in a court of law. Jesus, there is more proof of Bigfoot than God. I'm not saying it's impossible that there isn't a God, but how ARROGANT do you have to be to believe YOUR God is the one true God. Deeply religious people are mentally ill. And you're allowed to believe in any fairy tale you like in America, and that's a good thing. But you cannot legislate based on your religion. Keep your politics out of my bedroom and my pants. That's no ones's business but mine.

  • @Mschocolalicious Ignorant? Methinks the lady doth judge too much....

    Christians. Typical hypocrisy.

  • @SuCKeRPunCH187

In academia, if there is no proof, it means it doesn't exist. Your statement is so flawed it's not even funny.

  • @pilotamurorei you know my statement was actually a joke right?

  • The troops in Afghanistan need to be sent home. I agree with Bill. This is best fought as an intelligence battle. America has the best intelligence machine in the whole world. Trying to fight on the ground this crazy country is impossible to win. Russia tried it in the 80s, and even with all of their powers, they couldn't defeat it. Terrorism, like crime, will always be with us. The British took bombs in WW2, and carried on. We can't be held hostage by the possibility of terror attacks.

  • Any time a politician declares a "War on (fill-in-the-blank)", it is immediately lost and will cost billions. Haven't people learned this? Sick? I have other words for the behaviour of "The Public". To paraphrase, "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky primatives."

  • LMFAO @ build a Burlington Coat Factory.

  • I can't believe bill said that one terrorist dropping a nuclear bomb is not as bad as two super powers dromping their whole aresenal on each other! Come on Bill, just one nuclear bomb is one bomb too many! I hope to god we never see another nuclear holocast such as hiroshima or nagasaki. Those two events should have sent the message! plus we need to start doing something to stop genocides from every happening again. Seriel killers is one thing but genocide we CAN stop!

  • @iLuvAkeys4ever

I like Bill, but I agree that was a rather stupid statement for a different reason. When we were involved in the arms race with the USSR our nuclear arsenals were for the most part intended for mutual deterrence rather than for actual use. If terrorists get the bomb, while their numbers may be limited, the likelihood of them actually using them is far higher.

  • @TheNakedAtheist : check out the comment I just posted (in reply to) ILUVAKEYS4EVER (just a few minutes ago). Olive.

  • @TheNakedAtheist And in 1962 we were virtually minutes away from global nuclear destruction. In 1983, the USSR erroneously thought they saw our missiles headed their way and urged the leader to launch a counter-strike immediately. He didn't. All it would take to end the world in a nuclear holocaust is for an error in judgment, or a wacko head of state. Pakistan vs. India would do it. Though terrorists may be more likely to use it, they can not destroy the world.

  • -Though terrorists may be more likely to use it, they can not destroy the world.

Likelihood is exactly what I was commenting on. Not magnitude of damage. I believe a terrorist will inevitably get, and use a nuke which makes it a greater threat. More people in America have died from choking on pen caps over the last 50 years than from terrorism. In real terms pen caps have been a greater threat not to mention fire, car accidents, drowning or a multitude of other things.

  • @TheNakedAtheist People WILL continue to die from choking on pen caps. In terms of likelihood then, pen caps are also a greater threat than terrorism. It all depends on your criteria for "greater threat". If a terrorist uses a nuke, it'll affect a finite number of people in some geographical area. But if nations start throwing nukes, it can destroy the world. Because I may not be in the area of a terrorist attack when/if it occurs, I deem destruction of ALL OF US to be the greater threat.

  • @iLuvAkeys4ever Bill added "as awful as that is", in respect to one terrorist nuke. But come on, who cannot see that worldwide destruction by 2 superpowers at war would be much worse than anything a small band of religious fanatics such as Al-Qaeda with a nuke could ever do? Bill made good sense to me, so I don't see any rationale to your objection.

  • @iLuvAkeys4ever :

I think you misunderstood his remark (listen to it again- I did). He said that the kind of a bomb that just one individual terrorist (MIGHT) be able to set off here (not too unlikely) - is nowhere NEAR the threat that we had (back in the "old days") when 2 super-powers could've set off another nuclear holocaust (via their missles). I just wanted to point that out to you. Olive.

  • @OLiVEonWinmX

I think you misunderstood my response. OBVIOUSLY if 6000 nukes were launched the magnitude of damage would be greater, but the "greater threat" in terms of likelihood is that of a terrorist using a nuke, which I would classify as inevitable.

  • this begs the question, can you drop the N bomb to expose hidden racism? the intonation Bill uses here is to emphasise the ugly/derogative connotation of it. now im all for speaking your mind, and i love REAL TIME. but still..

  • @kravens001 Yes you can. Nigger or nigga is just a word. Its how the person used it, The meaning behind the word.

  • @Bloodsport1 shit, its Maher, if anybody gets a pass, its him.its an american thing i spose, over here we use the word neger. but it has lost the negative connotation over time. a well, just glad to see maher on King

  • Maher makes a good point - those of us who lived under the threat of nuclear armageddon know that this is not some doom-laden age of terror.

  • Think of it, if Sarah Palin wins the next election, Obama could be our second president to serve two non-consecutive terms.

    :o)

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting this :) you made my day!

  • We don't live in 2 different realities. I live in reality, Far right wingers live in Deluded Fucktard Land!!!

  • @coloradojoey That's really all it is... and all Republicans try to do is spin that on liberals. Yeah that's right conservatives... us liberals live in a non-reality... we're out to get you, but you're the ones that support war and attacking other countries, you hate Islam, but yes... we are the unreasonable ones.

  • @coloradojoey And they all wear hip huggers from the bullshit they spew.

  • War on drugs, there will always be drugs. War on crime, there will always be crime. War on terror, there will always be terrorism. War on alcohol, there will always be alcohol.

Come on people, realize this, you will never win a war against something that will never go away, and continuing to try only makes things worse for the rest of us!

  • @squirreljester2

You want to go to war with some shitty little third-world country like Panama or Grenada. Like Ronald Reagan used to do.

  • @revjimbob Did you completely miss the point of my post?

  • @squirreljester2

No - you missed my attempt at humour.

  • @revjimbob Attempt, yes hehe.

  • I feel like I have been dead since Real Time went on break

I cannot express how happy I am you posted this :)

  • @chessdawgz same

  • Afghanistan was the Russian Korea or Russian Vietnam, now the USA is making the same mistake there again..

    /0\

  • Thanks for posting it, for sure!

  • Isnt religion great !!

  • Thanks for posting... waiting for part 3 ;)
