Estoy totalmente deacuerdo con FiatObscuritas. Tocar una pieza musical es algo muy pero muy diferente a interpretar una pieza musical. No se trata solamente de digitar las notas que aparecen en un pentagrama..se trata de sentir cada nota y de otorgarle el valor que merece esta nota en particular dentro de la pieza musical como un todo. The idea is to keep the inside of your hand from touching the neck, and to keep your fingers as square as possible, so that you touch the strings with your fingertips. This makes the playing more accurate.

I've listened to many vesions, including one by someone who critized and none come close to what your father brings to this piece : he plays it is as if he wrote it (bravo!). The most convincing version I've heard yet. There's nothing wrong with his tuning either; his firm attack brings out extra harmonics that's all. nah, i don't think the speed is the real problem. it has something to do with the intensity of the sound. he's like pounding the strings and every single note sounds the same. with this kind of music, i believe that a softer, flowing sound would be much more suited.

Fast is a very broad term, the Bouree was a baroque piece in a waltz/dance feel, it was meant to be played at an Allegro tempo, back in the day, you could find music of extremely varying tempos, baroque music wasn't always fast and it wasn't intended to be blisteringly fast, baroque, classical and romantic music was written to be played at a tempo where the most "feeling" could be expressed, speed was not as important as expression.
