  • what if the judges give a 5 because they thought it was sick but the other crew hit back even harder. the judges will give him a 5 too. thats not fair

  • So this was a tie right? Seeing from the scores?

  • @timtheton Jinjo won 149 to 142 if you add up the scores.

  • this is a good system for people do not break(ie middle aged people )

The reason is because spectators will normally just award the winner based on who does the most tricks and power. The system should be used for very big high spectator or television crew audiences but definitely not for every small events.

    Din

    Rejects Crew

  • fck the new system.

just pick judges who know the game in bboyin then you dont need these stupid cards

  • @DayAtRots i kinda agree with you. this system has flaws and i find it too simply public than having people figure out on their own who appropriately won rather than a set of cards to tell you who did better each round.

  • giving it structure n stuff might nt be a bad ting..but the score cards are distracting..like nw u'd wanna look @ e scores, instead o jus enjoying e battle..kinda kills e vibe..e system makes battling like..moving away frm how it used to be, all street n all..but oh wells..jus my 2 cents worth..

  • maximum won based on their attitude alone

  • MAMIMUM

  • ohhhhhh, when you burn terror bunch out then its no problem to win R16

  • Mickey !!!!

  • I don't think the score cards are necessary.

  • @KimchiIsGood this is r16 korea, the r16 u speak of is international.

  • E FICOU MUITO SALGADO MSM FAZER OQ

  • i wanna see how they judge born lol.

  • Maximum Crew disrespectful bastards LOL

  • judgings a good idea- but this needs tweaking

  • The biggest prob now is that judges actually need to spend time on searching the right score cards. The system is basically okay, but the tools is just wack.

  • DOn't like the new system ...

  • ill say this again.. fuck this system. take it away

  • Hi i'm just wondering where the lavatories are? I've been told they're round here somewhere!

  • this dj is just a beast!

  • @gabbo89a do you mean like an ugly bastard. Yeah tell me about it.. He looks like an albino black dude in his 70's. Dam that is one ugly mofo!!

  • @justinium77 -.- i mean he plays very very well and i really like his songs.-.-

  • @gabbo89a OOoooppppss

  • off course a technical set with all foot and floor work can get beat by a power set... it depends on how original and how well you execute the moves. anyone can do a set like that. but not everybody can do it right. so if one is master in powermoves and the other is a beginner in style we all know the result

  • the scoring has to happen to fast you can see the judges siting there like hmmm what number should i give them, you need a whole battle to figure who the victor is not have a split second after one round to see how well you did that shyt's not judging a dance competition thats like giving points out in a video game and thatttt is wack

  • i dont even understand why whether or not you pull power is important in winning

are you telling me a technical set with all foot and floor work can get beat by a power set?

    seriously get outta here

lets preserve the system that come from the roots of bboying

bboying is expression and if a bboy wants to express in all style why the fuck should he have to learn power to win a battle?

    PAULatello

    The Everlasting Gob

  • The reason why Bboying is art because there is no right and wrong

IN figure skaring there is particular move you have to execute, how many turns you have to, and penalty towards wrong edge or some shit like that

    Bboying has no limit!

Can anyone swing leg while footworking like lilou??

    No one!

How about flare headspin and airchair set of bruce lee??

everyone does a move in a different way

You really cant judge bboying with these categories

judges just have to go what their heart tells them

  • @BboyJae1991

Looks this may not be the best option but in my opinion i think its pretty fair to an extent i mean like its not exactly saying that one will lose b/c they solely like power/style more than the other, and if ur confident in your moves and can execute them cleanly that shud be part of the judging system its like oh yeh i can do a flip but not that clean where as another guy can do it better than you and plus originality is part of the scoring system.

  • jinjo barely won that

    maximum came HARD

  • This is rating system is just stupid. Look at the scores a the end :

  • Fundamentals : well imo pretty much the same for moth crew (27-28)

Artistic : jinjo was just way better. It seems that every members in Maximum are the same -> same style, same transitions... only tricks are different. Jinjo on the contrary is fcking unique. I mean fleta and stonny both got awesome footwork they need more spotlight. And who can do power like fe? (not even talking of wing and skim)

Dynamics : I would give it to maximum

  • Execution : jinjo cleaner

Battle : more attitude from maximum and the crew looked more welded

Plus this system doesnt give routines their proper importance. They are rate like a basic set.

Overall this system is a failure, eventhough jinjo did win.

  • WHY WINNERS IS JINJO?!

  • ok am i the only one who thinks this entire competition feels more aggressive than competitive. or are we just gonna look at the score, which i admit and agree it's a stupid idea, the whole way?

  • wake up pure owns omfg

  • this judging system is WACK!!!...remember kids, crack is wack

  • o wow. looking at the scores at the end is so dumb. its like theyre tryna recreate the stats of players in NBA. more numbers isnt gonna add to anything, if anything it takes away from it imo...

  • omfg shit camerman....

  • who the fuck is going to get 5 judges at every jam?

  • man this judging "system" seems so generalized

not fair to test new judging on a FINAL battle either

  • in my opinion once again. this system will make most bboys be a dancer that they dont want to be. What if a stylistic bboy wanted doesnt want to do power? so he'll lose because he has no power? the ORIGINAL system should stay ORIGINAL. you know who wins, loses or even ties when you see it. its either you rip it on the floor or you dont.

  • This is still a crew battle right? Do the rules enforce EVERY member of the crew to perform ALL FIVE categories? I'm pretty ignorant in this area so humor me please... But yeah. This shit would definitely be wack if it also applied to 1v1's.

  • yeah it does.

as you can see the judges in the background , they put a score card up every round.

  • Yeah I saw that, but they're judging the entire crew's performance, not individuals. Isn't this why most crews have a mix of styleheads and powerheads?

I still don't see your point unless this style of judging also applies to 1v1's.

  • Okay. As i just said, there scoring by each person. And judges, judge by round. Like if one person scores higher than another, the other side wins a point. Get it now?

thats why im saying that in order to get a gaurenteed win you have to do power or footwork or w.e. one another doesn't like to do.

  • wait but what i dont get is when they hold up the cards who are they scoring on?

  • they're scoring the bboys round.

basically one of them judges each one of the categories, and they put the score they think the bboy gets for their round.

  • it just like casper said "if you call yourself a b-boy you must be adopted to everything, everything the dance has to offer"..

  • even so there is limits. Can't have a belly dancer doing bboy. Just doesn't work.

  • @BboyNdvr I agree on this makes bboys have to change their groove.

  • @BboyNdvr

    strongly agree with you

  • @BboyNdvr agreed, but another problame is that people that choose powermoves aka to be a powerhead, alot of people consider them to people who 'can't dance',

cico is one of a great example, he's a power head but he RIPS THE FLOOR the floor

so i think people should be more open minded, im just suggesting.

    peace.

  • @BboyNdvr You've got a valid point man for sure but i think this system can still work if the judges go about it the right way. I mean a stylehead can still have dynamic movement without using powermoves or tricks. I think it could also help bboys become more well rounded. That being said no one knows how this is going to work out in the future hopefully for the better and if not it's just a system it can always be removed or improved. One thing i would like to change is the scores being shown.

  • @BboyNdvr to bad that doesnt work most of the time in this scene and the way you see this system is wrong just stay quiet and enjoy the battle

  • @SwiftNyce Oh, I did enjoyed the battle alright, the first reason why i started ranting was because maximum ripped on jinjo. It's just times when you see something like this judging system and you know its pretty damn scarce

  • @BboyNdvr this is bullshit there shouldnt be no new system it doesnt work out that way. thats not true bboying and the system should stay ORIGINAL

  • @BboyNdvr I think dynamics also includes tricks like freezes or finishing moves which stylistic bboys use all the time.

  • @BboyNdvr 100% agree. It just molds a cookie cutter for bboys. And the beauty of breaking is about being unstructured and completely free

  • i think they should keep the numbers to themselves rather then try and hold it up as if they were judging a commercial olympic sport...

i feel that the tradtional roots of b-boying are gonna be taken over by over-professional judging and shit.. keep it old school.

  • I hope this judging system is still experimental, not that it's bad, but the numbers are almost distractions.

If they go wit it though, I'm cool wit it.

  • i just realized that at the end of the point chart.

    "Maximum" is spelled wrong lol

    "Mamimum" lol

  • where is hong 10???

  • @bboynama hong10 is not official member to jinjo crew..he is only a guest...he battles with jinjo cuz they r close friends..he is with drifterz crew still and his new addition is 7 commandoz

  • i rkn the new judging system is wack,,,,,

it interupts the flow and heat of the battle and makes the bboys concentrate on diff things instead of freestylin and expressing their own style....

  • This was a really insane battle both crews were unreal. I like the idea behind this judging system not so sure bout the fact that the judges are showing scores after each round but interesting to see how it goes further into other comps and battles.

  • Sick Battle!! :D

  • Mamimum..xDD

  • i like the new judging system taking it to a next elvel

  • im not sure about this new judging system. idk. i think its lacking something.

  • hello.. im also a bboy.. but i sprained my ankle.. did any bboy experience sprained ankle? can any one help me?

  • @bboyken08 Take a break for a few days or a few weeks and let it heal..it depends on how bad the sprain is to predict a good amount of rest.

  • @guitarishard tnx man.. did you experience like this?

  • I say, you should take a break until it's fully healed. If you ignore it and keep breaking you'll make matters worse :P

Meanwhile you could let your creative mind do it's work like making up new transitions/moves w/e.

  • @LSchicken wow thats a good idea man.. thank you.. by the way did you experience sprained ankle?

  • No I haven't but I did have had other injuries like pain in the neck or almost broken fingers lol.. like when my neck hurts I don't try to do headswipes and stuff, I just toprock and footwork but when my fingers hurt I just practice toprock and stuff.. just be creative :p

  • were are rivers???

  • Forcing a powerhead to do style doesnt make any more of a bboy than forcing a stylehead to do power. ..

This system clearly restraints the personal expressions of the individual.

However, it is a competition. Their field-their rules. It does suck but its true...

  • song names anyone ? (:

  • poor maximum, theyre such a good unique crew but it seems like they havent been able to win any competitions that would qualify them for international competitions

  • agreed. they always get second place. you start feeling bad for the OG guys in there .

  • This is Powerful Pexster NYC Breakers I embrace this system it's new fresh and clearly. breaks down the dance in category's..

1)Fundamentals= combinations top rock foot work and moves.

    2) artistics = be original and making up new style moves in the sets.

    3) Dynamic = Power moves airmoves AirPower moves, tricks combinations mixed and speed.

3)execution= how well you put the moves together and no slips and be neat..

    4) Battle= over all battle questioned?

But the Olympics here we come

  • its not a new judgin system they use it at the welsh open bboy champs n they have done for years haha

  • with the new judging system, maybe now bboy can be in the olympics! hahaha

  • damn, jinjo gone crazy

  • at the end of the vid you guys wrote 'mamimum' hahahahaha :p

  • judging system seems lik gymnastics...

  • so they let each judge grade one category?

but wow... jinjo finally dancing without hong 10 again.. haha

5:12 i was going to say TAE YANG!!! LOL

  • sick battle. just thought maximum should of tooken this one.

  • @bboyndvr they probably could of if they let the judges do their own thing instead of giving em a certain "task"

  • yeah. i very much agree with that too.

    well competitions will be competitions.

if i felt robbed, i'd head straight to the cyphas and call the other crew out. but yes. i agree with your comment.

  • @bboyndvr u got that rivers crew in u..haha thats wat rivers crew does XD

  • thats what any bboy would do haha.

  • why get hung up on the system without knowing the full details? think for 1 minute: there are elements of each category (fundamentals, artistic, dynamics, execution, battle) in every discipline (tops, footwork, power, freeze).

a system could limit the influence and extent of individual judge bias. even in the streets there are standards---you just have to respect the context in which battles occur. this is a professional competition so they need an objective system of subjective consensus!

  • @dylkim like i said earlier...bboying is not only about these 5 categories...its much more..y limit a bboy/bgirl on what they can do??this system is for sure limiting bboys/bgirls and it will favor certain bboys/bgirls in battles...any other battle its just all out luck from now on....

  • you can't expect your average non-dancer to comprehend everything. this may be a corporate AND cultural move to make b-boying more digestable to the general public for profitable purposes. the Korean scene is more developed in terms of sponsorship than any other b-boy nation in the world. frankly, a formalized judging system was inevitable. it's no longer just a culture but a real industry. b-boys are another form of your modern gladiator, like figures in sports entertainment.

  • hmmm so basically bboying is now become very "systemized" so to speak. im not entirely sure i fi agree with it, but i definitely do NOT disagree with it. i guess its just one of those new things we're going to have to get used to (or maybe not). overall, i think those 5 categories do cover the concepts of bboying. for example, musicality isn't in there but you could throw it in with artistic.

  • not loving the new judging system.

sidenote: LOL imagine all the hate if someone like Cico ended up on Fundamentals (though I'm sure they'll smart enough to put him on Dynamics or something)

  • This looks so commercialized.. the judges should base their decision on the whole battle and how good the bboys adapt the the music etc.. so if you take a great powerhead, he would maximum score 5 points on dynamics but fail at fundamentals? what's the point on that..

  • the new judging system sucks only having one category each means some people might think artistic styles are different so people get rated differently depending on judge and also these 5 categorys dont judge every part of bboying just those 5 categorys.

  • I was hoping Maximum finally get thier's...

  • quite stupid judging system ... i dont like it ... thats my opinion :P

  • thanks wing for done the difference !! lol

who can tell the maximum's line up member on this battle ?

  • The new judging system is complicated but it makes the judging a bit more accurate so you can tell if anyone will be robbed our not by watching each round closely and rating it from 1-5. Sort of understandable but real hard and whack lol.

  • @justinyoubish u sure cuz bboy is not all about 5 categories...and rating through 1-5 is dumb..wat makes 4 different from a 5??wat makes a 1 different from a 2??it also makes bboy/bgirls do wat they dont want to..for instance..powerheads like punisher, the end,and extrememe crew,spee-d,ronnie ruen and many more..and it might make styleheads put some power into their sets to get points in another category..and its not accurate cuz u have 1 judge focus on 1 category..all judges have differences...

  • This new system is pretty good. Now there's no mystery to judges decisions. You can actually have a proper constructive argument with a judge. For example: How come bboy Stony from Jinjo got so many 3's lol I mean I understand if he wasn't dynamic but he was pretty artistic and fundamental.

  • This new system is basically going to force Bboys to be more balanced in their sets.

If your pure power then you've basically lost a lot of points in Fundamentals and Artistic. Even with a 5 in Dynamics its simply not worth it.

Hopefully they don't pass this system.

  • @AstrayChronicle

that defeats the purpose of us allowing bboys to express themselves. Example: Keebs has power but he likes using footwork. Does this mean he has to alter his style to please a point system when he made himself nationally known because of his personal style? If this is their goal, it forces bboys to conform to dancing a certain way instead of what we are supposedly promoting with our dance- an outlet for creativity and originality. I don't like it, personally

  • 100% right. This system considers musicality and freshness 20% of bboying (at most). To even suggest that tricks are as important as the artistic part of a dance is insulting to the artists. Let's not forget, these are artists interpreting music, not gymnasts doing tricks. Seems like the educated fans and bboys don't like it. I hope the powers that be listen.

  • Personally I don't agree with the system either, however you can't really hate on power. If power is executed to the beat of the music what makes that any less of dancing than style? It is physical expression...

This is funny cause I'm a stylehead haha xP

  • no point in arguing with the judge...they have that bboy/bgirl for a judge for a reason...the trust their judgment...

  • This makes the dance/battle into a showcase like gymnastics. wack as hell. u wanna know why the judges voted that way? ask them they shouldn't have to use numbers to rate bboys. bboys are bboys and whoever takes it, takes it.

  • @madchinchin fasho fasho

  • new judging system is stupid....1 judge might have a different sense in another category...y would u limit a judge to 1 specific category....they're called the JUDGE for a reason...because they no what they're looking for..if u limit the judge on 1 specific they they only pay attention to that category....or they might mistake the score or even forget what category they're judging..besides that it will bore the judges try to pay attention to one category instead of the overall nature of the bboy

  • i agree, this makes the judges seem more like specialists in one field rather than what judges should really be

  • @nycxmusic yeah...which is totally just wack

  • great judging system

  • The new judging system should incorporate the whole number idea after each round but should have each judge base their number off all of those 5 categories instead of just 1.

  • lol jk peace and love

  • ._. yee

  • Jinjo routines are insane. I don't like the judging system, they don't focus on the whole battle and the atmosphere and if U count the scores there is like no chance to win for example doing a last move

  • i like the new judging. it weeds out some of the politics that go on.

  • Jinjo smoked them.

  • the mc is wack

  • good music ;)

  • This was a tough battle...seem equal from both sides! Going to be hard to judge.

  • The new judging system is fucking wack.

  • what the fuck.....

    who ist the winner?

  • Read the info or add the numbers up.

  • i understand they are trying new ways of judging but yea.. that wasnt a good one IMO

    both crews ripped it

  • ..i dont like when bboys are judged right after their round.. it makes it less personal, makes the judges too present (bboys focus less on the battle) and takes away the essence of battling.

  • yea i know. i dont think its right to judge bboying with numbers cuz most of bboying is soul and expression.

  • when i hear music it makes me dance (8)

  • so who won...

  • i don't like this style of judging very much.

    too discriminated and generalized

  • dope !!!!

  • SICK..

    MANY THANKS.
