  • gosh..

  • 1:22 Bobby Another time please bring your smokes outside please

  • Comment removed

  • i live in vegas i shit my pants when i heard it

  • Masterful editing.

  • OMG thats not a rocket factory.. goto the discovery networks channel-> that was a chemical plant

  • The biggest explosion was caused by a 3 foot in diamiter natural gas line exploading

  • Hundreds didnt die... there was only 2 people down there. True Fax

  • what's with the crappy video editing?

  • Would rather see the raw video uncut & with original sound/no music

  • Id hate to b there

  • They must of had rdx or someother high explosive in the factory rocket fuel just doesn't explain the acumulative fourth blast

  • Yeah!!! Faster than Light Explosion Sound.

  • was the last explososion a nuke cuz it sure looked like it

  • Haha, he's right. The guy even says at 0:28 "Oh that's GOING to be loud"

  • OK who farted?

  • @OrdNaor I can't believe you failed at reading the comment that had 10 thumbs up. As I quote, even though I don't need to, "Why is there the sound of the explosion SIMULTANEOUS with the blast?" Read again and properly, he's referring to the blast at :53 and :58. Then go ahead and delete your comment.

  • Thanks for posting this video. It's the closest thing to an 'unedited' version. I hate how TV shows add in an explosion when you see it on screen but the truth is you wouldn't hear the explosion until long after you see it.

  • Also, poor marshmallow factory :*/

  • I saw this on discovery. They didn't smoke, but it was an error inside the factory.

  • there arent any added explosions sounds. thast the sound of the shockwave coming, and the explosions. the music is bullshit though

  • Holy shit it's hard to believe that it all started from a misdisposed cigarette

  • ask for polish firecrackers ... they are more demolish, i swear

  • That is some crazy shit man. I think the video would have been all right without the cheesy music and cartoon noises added. Listen to those explosions and think of Wild E Coyote blowing himself up after the Roadrunner is long gone. Nothing like taking a perfectly good explosion and fucking it all up with some dumb ass shit.

  • the dude that makes those sound effects and dramatic music

    is a dumb FUCK

  • Yet again more edited explosion sound effects and annoying "dramatic" music. All I want to hear is the people talking who video taped the event, and the SHOCKWAVE. Don't the idots who produce these shows get it? Do they think we are that dumb?

  • hey man ... it's not a rocket factory.. its a jet fuel factory...

  • "uuu that's gonna be loud" :D

  • 1:26

I have never seen anything vaporized that quickly. Mainly because there is no footage of HIroshima or nagasaki.

  • Why is there the sound of the explosion simultaneous with the blast? Did the movie makers add that for effect? The real sound comes in a few seconds later. I think reality would have been more dramatic - a silent blast that you know is big.

  • Television, typical.

  • light travels faster than sound.

Thats also why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

  • And what's hilarious about this, is that nobody got it.

  • @ Highlandsh: I almost can't think of a tv-program that doesn't ad sounds to videos: its just to make everything more dramatic, and people mostly don't notice it.

  • @highlandsh There is an explosion sound effect because let's face it, a lot of american television people are stupid, and expect to hear it instantly as they see the fireball. So, yeah. Cheap editing trick.

  • that is fucking huge

  • weak

  • FUCK THAT!!!!

  • you would want to...

    nah just messin'... XD

  • fuck da last one wos incredible

  • holy crap,...wow

  • acually arond 1:17

  • LISTEN NEAR THE END!!!!! you here a deep weird noise. wich meens the explosion is faster then the speed of sound!!!!!!

  • It's actually dubbed-in. No sound is capable of traveling that fast.

  • smoke bomb ;p

  • it was cuz a guy was smoking and he threw a ciggarette on rocket fuel he thought it was a empty barrel my music teacher told that about that i think about maybe 2 or 10 people died so sad

  • 2 workers of the factory

  • sick

  • It's filmed from a distance. The sound reaches the microphone only seconds later.

  • how many people died?

  • it was evactuated, but i think 10 died

    im not sure though

  • it was two

  • Were was this? and who farted so big? Did you see that explosion! Someone had some serious problems that day.

  • out in the desert in vegas

  • I would have LOVED to be there - close enough to see it and get a good whack off the shockwave, but far enough away to be safe. What an experience that would be.

  • didnt one man with a bag leg die trying to save his workers???

  • one word "RUN!!!!!!!!!!"

  • one word "RUN!!!!!!!!!!"

  • Al Bundy(Married with Children) in the bathroom again.

  • I was living in Henderson at the time of that disaster... that fourth explosion knocked me off my feet.

  • that last one sounded like a plane dropped a bomb!

  • Actually, it's stock sound effects dubbed in. I can actually name the software that has those sound effects! ;)

Sound never gives that sort of warning. When you see an explosion from a large distance, it takes place in silence, and the first noise you hear from the explosion is the massive shock.

  • the first sound could be the shock wave that is delivered over the ground. it can reac a much faster speed because of its density

  • sadly, in this case, its stock sound effects

  • actually, the greater the density and compressiblity, the slower the speed of sound, the reason sound travels faster in liquid or solid environments is because they are much less compressible, even if they are denser.

  • the more atoms or molecules per volume the higher the density, and because of that, the lower the compressibility

  • Hooo my God, this is ......is.... no words...gulp amazing explosion, i´m scared.

  • Godalfuckingmighty....anybody in there would be paste or ash after that. What was in that last blast? Looked like it burst out of the ground.

  • They call it pink mist.

  • I just saw another story about this last week. There was a natural gas pipeline that ran under the factory. It pulled the pipe out of the ground. It crushed a 4 foot diameter pipe to the size of your fist. Amazing there weren't more people killed...

  • woow... that 4th explosion looked like a nuke...

  • No it didn't. If it looked like the nuke, then the people filming would have been enveloped and obliterated within ~1 second.

  • i said it LOOKED like a nuke, not that it isn't arse

  • Toastie why be such an idiot. He said it LOOKED like one. Why do people gotta be so damn practical. Clown

  • DANG!!!

    That was...crazy!!

  • Two people died at the rocket fuel factory, but all of Kidd's (marshmallow factory) employees survived.

  • Did they hide between the marshmallows to survive? :O

  • wow thats really well edidted...

    but still insane

  • thats what im talking about.

  • omg u saw the building

  • why dont they use rocket fuel instead of nukes or maybe combine it that will be a super nuke =) but sad for the people who died.

  • If I remember correctly, only the owner died

  • wow... he's lucky (sarcasm)

  • A matter of mass. This explosion was equivalent to 3 kt if I remember correctly and represented 4000 tons of ammonium perchlorate. By comparision, the smallest nuke the US ever produced (that we know of) was a "dial-a-yield" man-portable that weighed 68 kg, and its lowest yield was 10 kt.

So move 8 million pounds of ammonium perchlorate, or rougly 150 lbs?

  • yeah its the marshmellow thing.

  • HOLY...FUCKING...SHIT!!!!!!!!!

  • AND im sad for the people ho died by dat.

    REST IN PEACE! <=(

  • So sad you couldn't be bothered to put a coherent sentence together?

  • Wow, are you stupid. There were no missiles there and never will be. They only made rocket fuel for, at the time, NASA and the DoD.

  • You realize most rocket fuel is used for space shuttle and satellite launches. With out the advances of space exploration and satellites you probably wouldn't be on the Internet.

  • what the hell does that have to do with the vid?

  • What factory?

    Shitty video editing. Good grief.

  • The video stutters like fuck.

  • Hey I remember this. I saw it on the TNN(Spike TV), The History Channel, and Discovery Channel. Thanks for posting it!
