@IWriteSongsGetOverIt if you don't understand Russell brand its easy to dislike him but moz is not even a interviewer and he still makes brand look 2nd best at his own job i cant think of a more literate person than Morrissey but brand can be funny at times.and has his moments of intelligence
That russell brand is a fuckin' idiot savant of the first order, dribbling and fawning over his quarry. It's obvious that Morrissey is playing him for the slack jawed, swivel eyed fool that he patently is. One person in this fairly one sided conversation is clearly more intelligent than the other, however one person sadly THINKS he's clever. 'Get Me To The Greek' indeed.
My problem with Brand is he's all the entitlement and nuance with none of the talent. Morrissey's talent and dedication has afforded him acceptance of his affectations.
@ 3:18, why is it less bleak now? oh, ok, thanks to margaret thatcher....brand is literally almost as insecure as morissey, although they both seem more intelligent than talented...
Anyone who doesn't like Brand just doesn't get him - he can take a bit of getting used to but is very clever. He is the LEAST arse lickin interviewer of Moz I've seen and the only one on youtube I have seen to get these type of lengthy answers out of him and he asks awkward questions. They just look like two good mates havin a chat to me. Thanks for ther upload
Who in the hell would enjoy this interview ? Morrissey is very witty as usually, but Brand sucks balls,he looks like he is talking to a friend in the street. Terrible interview. They did not even talk about the new album. Really waste of time. That is my opinion in a nutshell.
@atlasdguad77 I admire you for keeping your nuts shelled, it would be absolutely terrible to imagine them otherwise. Brand is good at what he does, and they're both terribly witty. Morrissey is a quieter sort of type interview wise, whereas Brand thrives on his sense of over the topishness that made him who he is. To be fair, they're both geniuses, and while the album wasn't discussed (as I feel it will be in the other parts) he did get Moz to talk a lot of himself...rare, and open.
This Moz interview is the most comfortable one I've ever seen. Russell, who I think is well-spoken and very amusing, asks questions that others wouldn't... well, dare, really - for example, whilst being a fan of Morrissey, he suggests that perhaps being obtuse 'becomes a format'. Etc etc etc. :)
wow that's surprising to here morrissey say that music was never played around the environment he grew up in.I can some what relate to that. It's very oppressing to be in an environment where there is no creative expression.
Well I think that they shouldn't haven't put Russell in their just because he isn't the right person to interview MORRISSEY for gosh's sake. It should have been someone who is known for great interviews...
No matter how much I try to dismiss Morrissey as someone of my past that I try to put in the past as yesterday's music, He keeps creeping up on me like the plague. There is no one in music who has ever {or will ever} make such an honest statement in his writing. The only person that I can compare Morrissey to in a non-musical terms is Howard Stern. My two heroes who are the only two heroes of this awful celebrity age who tell the truth. All honesty, no bullshit.
It's like Morrissey is almost acting like a father figure, giving advice and being down to earth with russel listening intently. Very good conversation [not interview]
Did that dude actually divorced Katy Perry? How can any man worth his mettle fu%$in divorce

what i find funny about this is, towards the end morrisey is interviewing russel
asking him questions in reverse to a question. you do have to admire morrisseys humour

Nah Morrissey loves Russell. He told him so, actually.
Rare occurrence innit? Someone Morrissey actually likes..
They're so cute. Russell and his boyhood hero.
They *say* you should never meet your hero's, but in this case it worked out well... usually your idol can't possibly live up to your expectations.
-Morrissey always does.
