  • you did good on your first try! i would just let those seams out a little to make the pocket wider! but great job!

  • Thanks, I am much better at making them now and I use PUL and other nappy making materials too :)

  • You could also just lay a soaker on top, so it will still work. Great job! I love making diapers, its so great knowing you can actually use your creations!

It also took me a few hours, the pinning takes forever!

  • It becomes addictive!! lol

  • Awesome job for your first attempt!

  • Thanks

  • congrats on first try of making a cloth diaper! it was really good!

  • Thanks, I have made about 25 nappies now, all washed and ready to go.

  • I think you did a fab job hun, it looks great for a first attempt, I cant wait to look through more of your videos to see what else you have done, take care

  • Thanks, I made made a whole heap more now and am learning with each one i make.

  • It's better than I could do!

  • How creative of you to want to make them yourself. Good job didn't look like anything was wrong with it at all. I think its neat you are going to do cloth nappies, let me know how it goes.

  • Well, I thought it would be cool if I was actually able to make something for the baby and...if we ever run out or need more I could just whip up one or two on the machine (thats when I get quicker at it). I have now made 3 and they are getting better and easier to do with each one, soon I will use the nicer material I bought and make cute pink ones etc.

  • Looks like a fairly decent attempt!! (Much better than I ever could!) I have recently become obsessed with modern cloth nappies but I'll probably buy them despite how over-priced they are :P

I think you've got a much better idea. I can just imagine you sewing with your bump... how adorable.

Look forward to the next vid :D

  • Ha, some people think I am crazy for choosing to go cloth and now that I am trying to make them myself they think I;m even more crazy!!

  • You make me want to try to make them! How many do you plan to make?

  • Well I need at least 24 for a three day cycle of clean ones, in the wash ones and ones drying. I already have 14 that I bought, so tha makes about 10 that I will make. You should give it a go, its not too hard, even though I havent perfected it yet.

  • Great job! It looks just like the ones you purchased!

  • Thanks, that made me smile.

  • Great job Grace!! I don't think it's a failed attempt...Teddy looked very happy in his nappy!

  • Lol, and he is going to keep wearing that nappy too :D

  • Good Job! I love to sew you will get the hang of it especially being a new mother. Saves money! The nappy came out damn good for your first attempt.

    Keep it up!

    XOXO

  • Thank you, oh yeh I remember in your video you showed a teddy that you made for your little baby. Can you make clothes and stuff? I'd love to do that.

  • Yes I can, I learn to sew in High School and embroider. Its not hard at all, you can sew too if you like doing it.

  • I do actuall, I just wouldn't know where to start though.

  • I will try to find some information for you and I will send you a message to help get you started.

    ;)

  • You did so well. Thanks a lot for putting that video on your favorites. I am going to try and make them too. Just a question, what do you stuff them with? And would they still need to wear something waterproof over the top of these cloth nappies? I was thinking instead of the flannel on the outside I wonder if you could use a waterproof material. I Might do some extra research.

Keep up the videos -- love them.

  • You can stuff them with microfibre towels folded or you can make your own inserts out of fleece and microfibre or you can buy them premade (which is more exspensive). Yes you do need a cover, I will show you two types of covers that I have and are quite cheap. Also you can put a waterproof layer on th outside, I think it is called PUL.

  • wow grace i cant believe you made that!

it looks like one ou would buy from the shops

its always nice to hae that personal satisfaction.

Glad most things are going well for you

    good luck

oh and when willyou tell us her name?

great 23 week video aswell :)

  • I can't believe I made it either, to know that I am able to ake it makes me feel good.

I am trying to figure out wether I will leave it as a surprise or not (the name that is)...we'll see.

  • good job!!!

  • Thanks

  • You know what i mean, they will fill quicker than you can make em!!!!

  • hahaha, you're right.

  • You did a great job for that being your first time!!!

You are going to get great at it with practice!

    Carina

  • Thanks, I am going to try again today but don't worry, I won't make a video every time I make one...lol.
