Wow....thank you for posting this video. I remember my grandfather took me down to the Ex when I was only 2. I retained a vague memory of streetcars and the many tracks down there, but did not know if it was a dream or a real memory. Now, nearing 30 years old, I appreciate seeing this video to know that my memory serves me correct.
Fantastic video! Does anybody remember the colourful painted mural on the east wall of the old Toronto Transfer Tavern on the northwest corner of Ossington and Queen St. that had images of old PCC and CLRV streetcars and of the OLD TTC trolley buses (the ones that ran along Ossington Av. BEFORE the "Flyer" trolley buses that are filmed here)? The mural was painted over with white paint in late 1991. I hope someone got photos of that mural to preserve its TTC artwork.
I've been starving to find videos of what Yonge street looked like in the 60's and 70's, wish there was something traveling up Yonge street north, just to be able to see.
I tell ya. The old Trolley Buses would run better today than those hybrid electric buses on the streets now. I think there was absolutely no reason to get rid of the trolley buses.
this really brings back memories...I had just moved to Canada...I really miss Toronto from those days!
