there are either tourist, obaachan, or APU students who just so happen to live there. Foreign tourist are usually shocked by how many foreigners are residence in beppu, and we're quite integrated into the community.. I miss my days at APU :(
Hi lordblazer! i'm a foreigner as well and I'm gonna be studying at APU during the spring semester of 2010. do u have any special suggestions for living in beppu or anything cool you might recommend about the city? anything to be careful for?
Thanks a lot!! i'll definetely keep those in mind during my time over there. yeah I was reading some feedback on those bus companies, they sound like nothing but trouble, lots of complaints, I hope something will be worked out by the time I get there though.
Are there any particular reasons to get out of the AP house fast? I've been abroad before and usually those dorm/living areas with lots of international people are the place to be, at least in my previous experience, so i was just wondering
its an international university. Most of the students that aren't first years are downtown. I use to crash at two apartments.. 1 of them had a friend from finland, another from switzerland, and indonesia. The second apartment a pakistani from hongkong whose family lives in tokyo, japanese guy, a guy from india who couch surfs, and then a lot of other ppl go through there. They're quite integrated into the city. AP house is good for easy socializing though. either way its a unique experience
You will love it. BTW you don't have to leave AP House especially if you enjoy it. ITs were all APU students start out, and tend to bound really well there. YOu are going in during the Spring soooo it will be japanese freshmen, and for fall its international freshmen entrance time. Anyway the school is on top of a volcano btw. Enjoy :D oooo and if ppl know you goto APU in JApan you will be surprised how much it connects people. lots of alumni in asia will help you out if they know you went there
hey, im also gonna study in APU on spring 2010. Thanx for the recommendations. Please tell me, are classes tough? In my country all Universities with Engineering-aims are somewhat stressing, and I really want to travel a lot. Thanks again
