  • Holy chiz that must've been scary chiz for the crew on that airship!!!!

  • This reporter shows what people really felt when something terrible happened like this during such a more classier era. He actually cared and cried for the people lost in the crash, something that people don't do anymore. It shows how people really mattered to each other back then.

  • Did he actually say, "Oh the humanity"?

  • @trenken yes he does

  • Did the Hindenberg died?

  • @terratrema your joke did

  • @Markb2477

    I hate you.

  • Listen to his proper english. Too bad no one speaks that nice anymore...

  • I pressed like because the reporter has a soul, something we need more of.

  • @Kalabanano Reminds me of CBS's Dan Rather back in 2001...

  • @Kalabanano I'm pretty sure reporters are trained NOT to react like this in the event of a crisis because it would cause panic.

  • I remember when this happened...:)

  • Goes with Guile's theme song

  • OH THE HUGE MANATEE

  • Man this is some emotional reporting! The modern media seems so detached in comparison to this.

  • Keep clicking on "9" to hear "fucking"

  • dont criticize me...can someone explain this to me besides the obvious disaster...like what caused it? who died?...be glad im interested and watching this instead a music video of kanye west auto tuning again...Thanks!!

  • wut could have happened

  • People, a disaster is a disaster. It doesn't matter whether 9/11 was worse than this, or whether Hiroshima was worse than the Holocaust or not. People died, it's tragic. That's the point. Videos of tragedies aren't up here so you can argue pointlessly.

  • you shouldnt be comparing which was worse 9/11 or the hindenburg, or any other disaster, or comparing how many people died, because the fact that several people died in both accidents , is horrific and sad on its own.

  • 9/11 was worse!!! thumbs up if u agree

  • @redsux34 yeah but the centeral bank of the united states tried to make 9/11 so the people would loan more money and get our gvt into more debt. but is was in my opinioun the most heartbreaking event in history exept hiroshima

  • @Moldychezevids save your consperacy bullcrap for somewhere else.

  • @redsux34 And the bombing of Hiroshima was WAY worse than 9/11.

  • @redsux34 dickhead

  • I don't care about the Hindenburg but the narrator make it so funny, or terrifying....

  • this is as bad 9/11 :(

  • @vmartin96 wtf 3000 ppl died on 9/11. were there 3,000 people in the hindenburg dummy?

  • Just saw the crash site last week at Lakehurst. Got to go in it's hangar, too! It's HUGE! I've never seen an aircraft hangar that big. And the floors are still the original brick.

  • He cried, but it was very horrible

  • At first I "liked" this. Then I was like =/

  • Eerie how the ship's name 'Hindenburg' is seen burning up as it crashed

  • omg that waz sooooo terrible!

  • what will you do for a klondike bar!??

  • does he say "f*cking" at 1:05 ?

  • @jimfoshea "...a mass of smoking wreckage..."

  • @jimfoshea mass of smoking wreckage

  • @jimfoshea I think it's supposed to be "smoking"

  • @jimfoshea No, he says 'smoking,' as in 'smoking wreckage.'

  • @jimfoshea SMOKING wreckage, he says

  • @jimfoshea yep a mass of fucking wreckage

  • @jimfoshea Smoking

  • @jimfoshea

    No, he says 'smocking'.

  • @PR0GRAMMING

*Smoking, sorry about spelling on that one.

  • @jimfoshea smoking

  • @jimfoshea I think he did!

  • Anyone else feel a bit wrong at "liking" a video of people burning up?

  • which pixel is the hindenburg?

  • @StupidFatFag

I thought that too, but in some of the unslowed down footage you can hear him clearer, he says smoking

  • @StupidFatFag that big grey one

  • Shoulda used helium, cheap bastards

  • @millakilla Too bad America wouldn't sell any to Nazi Germany.

  • This ship WAS carrying American civilians and it was just strong winds that made it happen. Happened in NJ I believe.

"Humanity" is a way of identifying a mass of people. "Oh the Humanity!" Means "Oh so many people are being incinerated right now!"

  • @GreenZeppelin52 So explain to me how winds made this happen. If I'm not mistaken zeppelins were filled with hydrogen. Pretty sure it would take a fire or some type of spark for an explosion like to occur.

  • get me wrong if i am.. disaster of 19||37|| (highlighting 37) and this incident destroyed hidenburg in like 37 secs right?

  • haha el kabonk at the end. wtf

  • That, kids is why you dont fly a led zepplin

  • Whooh amazing filmed and what a wreck

  • Whooh amazing filmed

  • is it real ? I dont think so.

  • @cm5459 dude thats just ignorant. yes this it real

  • 1:06 did he say what i think he said

  • @RaterTotz smoking wreckage

  • @RaterTotz and what exactly did you think he said?

  • @RaterTotz I think so. That's what I heard... really tragic :(

  • @kidwithhouse its not a tragedy it was owned by nazis and do you know how many people the killed that is a true tragedy

  • hon me

  • holy sh

  • how ironic is it to "like" a tragedy?

  • @kidwithhouse that's not what ironic means....lol dumbass

  • 2 people thought hydrogen was a good thing

  • 32 seconds of hell, my opa made it off there.

  • I hate pylons now.

  • at the end did i hear i cant talk ladies and gentlemen it was just fucking landing?

  • @ALLERTORLOVER69 "It's a smoking wreckage"

  • what the fuck

  • This was so terrible.... up until this crash, they had a safety record of 100% and a fatal error somewhere led to the loss of lives (35 out of the 92 passengers)...

    Oh the humanity!

  • @nback11 The remarkable thing about that is that with 92 passengers, so many survived. A hydrogen explosion of that magnitude would be a terrible thing to behold.

  • OHHHH DEARRRR.

  • its a fucking massive reckage? 1:05

  • Oh the huge manatee!

  • We on fire, up in here, it's burnin up, we on fire

  • burn baby burn DISCO INFERNO

  • OH THE HUMMAANNITY (CRIES)

  • Zeppelin!!!!!

  • This made me cry it is so sad it was so shocking and it was destroyed those poor people :(

  • @happypeppygirl 36 people died.

  • I would like to see unedited material of that crash. Whereever I look I can only see footage that has been edited with footage from different perspectives as though it were a movie. I don't like that.

  • that was before reporters were brainwashed government controlled robots

  • does the phrase "oh the humanity" acutally mean anything?

  • @ykcin01 Think is soemthing about what we Human can do, to make everything a living hell

  • :(

  • 37 seconds....

  • As a child in the 1940's, I listened to a 78 rpm recoding of this broadcast often...no idea why my parents had it. The Challenger disaster was deja' vu.

  • wow that was terrible. you could hear the distress in the newscasters voice. i couldn't imagine watching that.

  • many ppl make fun of this or dont care but how terribale would it be if u were in ther or someone u loved

    ?

  • ( i think some of them on board where nazis soooo ( oh the humanity more like oh the irony

  • @liamnaruto This happened in Jersey you tard.

  • Comment removed

  • Sounds bad, but this is my favourite disaster

  • @CLeRKSfan4life

You have to admit, the imagery is startling.

  • there were people running TOWARDS it. uh DUDE? KET OUTTA DA WAY!

  • @flipflopgirl8 Some people had families on there, so they were probably trying to see if any were alive

  • @flipflopgirl8 They were trying to save people that would later survive. The same types of people risked their lives to run back into the twin towers to save people.

  • very sad to see this

  • That journalist making that emotional news report of the disaster was Herbert Morrison of Chicago's WLS radio. He died in 1988.

  • @Barnstormer1969 Poor guy... he had to see this

  • Great footage

  • At 0:35 it gives me chills seeing the word "Hindenburg" become engulfed in flames.

  • its a little creepy seeing people running out of a flaming ship

  • @Davis4037 They weren't running out, they were running away, everyone inside the ship was killed.

  • @Wussup8000 No 23 passengers and 39 crew men survived.

  • OH THE HUGE MANATEE!!!!

  • Thumbs up if you come from Mass Mayhem 2!

  • @Jaskull20 hahahahahahahah

  • This was in Band With No Name's song "Letter."

  • Some brave men there running towards the fire seeing if they can rescue anyone - very brave indeed.

  • OH THE HUMANITY!

  • It's heart wrenching to hear the man's voice in this clip. What a sad disaster.

  • What would these people do if they saw 9-11??

  • y do they call it the zepplin

  • @skinnyera It's a Nazi Vehicle , They used to transport people from Germany during World War 2 , But they stopped making the zeppelin, After they heard of the Hindenburg Crash in 1937. But the Nazis had plans of making Zeppelins before.

  • @NationalSocialistful Ohh ok but wits with the whole les zeppelin thing wat does he have to do with this

  • @skinnyera What???????????

  • @NationalSocialistful Nvm Brodie thnx though I needed to know that for my test lol haha ayye check out my vid with the jerk soda yung crazy out

  • man, the zeppelin hit the ground like it was made of led :)

  • @mick220567 that was a horrible pun. sorry

  • Hindenburg deaths = 36

    Titanic deaths = over 1500

    you do the math

  • @AndrewTPerrin tobacco death/driving while impaired myths

greater than 1,000,000 whats the real disaster?

  • type in kyle lovering dropkick video fucking awesome

  • @finuke10 too bad u werent in that blimp

  • I was born on the 57th anniversery of the Hindenburg's demise. And 138 years after Freud. Yay me.

  • Tragic moment

  • wat was the biggest catastrophy in the world zepplin vs titanic

  • @grasslike44 in regards to loss of life, it would be the titanic. it was not caught on film, of course, unlike the Hindenburg. id say the titanic since it was perceived as invincible, the loss of life, and the hollywood movie.

  • @Marines1125 yeah the titanic is worst

  • @grasslike44 9/11

  • fail

  • knocks off any action movie scene in history

  • Via Via

    PF

    Old School

  • lol he sounds funny!!!!

  • @legomaxmania the recording was running fast that is why his voice sounded like that, he was actually known for his quite deep voice.

  • @jellybellybaby234

    you missed the joke lol

  • With today's technology, you could probably build a safe airship. and because the airship will travel at low altitudes, you can just throw terroists out the window.

  • @rdseyer yes, safe mainly since the US held onto safe gases that would keep the airship afloat while Germany had to deal with the flammable source they had. You better be ironic boy or you are an idiot.

  • OH THE HUGE MANATEE!

  • @cobra75410 .... oh the humanity....

  • Someone should have walked up to the reporter and said "You can act like a man! *slap* What's the matter with you!?"

  • @cobra75410 acualy only 30 out of the like 118 people on board died.... most of the people jumped otu of the window and landed on the sand below.. and only one person on the ground died

  • Does anyone know how close the reporter was to the crash? It looks as if the camera is quite close to the Hidenburg.

I understand the reporter's reaction. It was probably very shocking, not only that the Hidenburg crashed, but to know that everyone on board was dead.

  • @TheVoodoowoman he wasn't anywhere near the crash he actually recorded his voice after the crash

  • yea twas a terrible catastrophy but according to wiki only around 30 people died 0_o

  • OH THE HUMANITY!

  • Thus ended the reign of the airship..

  • At 0:55 in the bottom right corner you can se someone stagger out rom beneath the wreckage.

  • Pants checking time!

  • "Oh, the humanities!"

  • An urban legend has it that Morrison was fired by WLS for his emotional reaction, but according to the station's weekly magazine and Morrison himself, this is not true. In fact, he was highly praised by station management, and the story of how he and Nielsen made the recording was described in detail. It is possible that the story of his being fired came about because Morrison left WLS a year later to work for the Mutual Broadcasting System and that network's New York flagship station, WOR.

  • What makesw this one so different from the others is that you can actually hear the background noise. The concussion from the explosion and the sound of the steel collapsing as the ship fell to the earth. Amazing and tragic to listen to.

  • @ZMonster06 At about 0:17-0:19, the recording fades out a bit and then it comes back. This was caused by the shockwave of the explosion vibrating the needle on the recording-equipment. I saw a photograph of the original record, and you seen a really deep groove in it where the blast's shockwave dug the needle into the record.

  • OH THE HUMANITY!!!!

  • heart wrenching :/

  • I wouldve been traumitized if I saw this happen right now.

  • To infinity and BEYOND!

  • wow, That one event changed history

  • did he die?

  • @Rushworshiper92 I dont think so

but he could have from heart attack.

  • did alqaeda do this one too?

  • COOL GUYS DONT LOOK AT EXPLOSIONS!

  • Now I've seen two videos of this where the reporters say the exact same things but their voices are completely different?... I don't get it. I know obviously there cold be different recordings of the voices making it sound different. But the voices are not even close to sounding similar. Hehe, I'm not suggesting some far out conspiracy shit. I would just like to know the reason for this :)

  • @sumpskildpadde It has been said that the difference in voices was in the different speeds of the recordings.

  • @witchman67 Haha, of course. That's quite logical now that I think of it. Thanks ;)

  • ...At the end it sounds like he says "Honestly it's just a mass of fucking wreckage!" But according to the transcript he said "smoking"... ANYWAY, an amazing peice of history right here.

  • I know this is horrible and all but "this is one of the worst catastrophes in the world!"... Only like 35 people died... there have been soo much worse even before then.

  • @IpwnUa11 Yes, but you need to understand that this was the largest zeppelin ever built and this was during the early stages of flight. When he saw this marvel of engineering burst into flames it was just unthought of.

  • @bigbenzon This actually isn't the largest. There was another zeppelin that was made that was the exact same size as the Hindenburg. It was the Hindenburg's twin, but I forget the name of it.
