DOOM spawned with Death Row and this cannot be disputed!
I am one of the few original fan/friend and was privileged enough to see them in 81/ 82!! - j - "Death Row made me piss my pants and gave me nightmares!", - Dave Grohl ;]
ok, I am a Pentagram fan, but very confused about the band.can someone help me out? In there first album, "First Daze Here" they had more of a hard rock sound to them. Then in their later albums, like "Relentless" and "Turn TO Stone" they had more of a doom metal sound. Now, I don't understand If they had the same band, their whole career . Like their guitarist and drummer, O'keefe. Can someone tell me about the band?
First line up was the First daze era 1971 - 76 I believe. But, the more "doomish" albums started off in the death row era. Wiki it some time. it has the bands complete history.
Well, seeing as people are discussing studio activity....perhaps this is the place to ask what the hell went on with the Peaceville remix? Whose bright idea was it to tone down the kick drum on the first lp re-release? The vinyl is simply twice as heavy - it's a crime against humanity and Hasselvander !. Also someone fades out that legendary feedback at the end of 20 Buck Spin.....my god for messing with that track they should be shot at dawn.
Marty sounds a little unhappy, perhaps just one too many? I'd rather see the real deal then the sanitized "musical differences" Behind the Music stuff. The production isn't the best the first couple LPs, but they're flaws that are cherished by many.
bobby is on the newest cover of decibel magazine with a large interview feature. its really good.

Be Forewarned is my least favorite Pentagram release, either way one of the most horrendously underrated bands of all time

You might be right about underrated but they just maintained their underground status. Last Days Here is one of my favorite Pentagram songs.

I think that later pentagram IS lacking bottom end bass.Bassist is right.
